I have my first char in ng++ at the bonfire in the depths and 2 other chars stuck at lvl 100 with everything done in normal ng.. but.. the amount of pvp-ers in olascile township makes it hard to want to go back to ng++ and run through the same content for the 5th time.. i'd rather start again from the beginning with a different char/build; will roll a new moonlight build tonight which will make it my 6th playthrough (aside from the xbox ones Very Happy )
I've played a lot if not all pvp-centric rpgs and mmos but this one surpasses all by far; so no, you're not the only one addicted here Very Happy

Very good point there, as some of the game's mechanics resemble with those of an MMO.

I'm only into PvE but it's still addictive and the world remains appealing even without, or should I say, especially without PvP intruders. Wink

Now, at lvl 140 I am dmg capped with the Abyss Greatsword and finally Artorias's Greatsword starts to kick in with new upgraded stats (INT/ FAITH). Been wanted since I started the game to play with that one sword. I like it. ^.^

I'm having trouble killing Smough and Ornstein. Well, the "super" version of Ornstein is badass. I know, I could summon solaire, but I don't have humanity and I have no clue where to find humanity there...

Taking out Ornstein first is the (much) easier option, but you miss out on his drops

That's exactly what I did. Got Solaire to help me, killed Ornstein first and kept whittling away at Smough and spamming humanity. Imho this is the toughest fight in the entire game.

Pfff, you guys belong in the console section.
I killed Smough first and made giant Ornstein my bitch all by myself. As a matter of fact, I never summoned any help in any boss fight Cool Face

Various versions? There is Demon's Souls on the PS3 and Dark Souls on the PC/360/PS3. The PC version of Dark Souls has additional content that console derps don't have. And playing DeS isn't necessary to play DaS (which is a much better game anyways, imho).

There is only one version available on PC. Just make sure you apply the DSFix 1.7 and you're good to go.

EDIT: If you want to play with mouse and keyboard, there is also a mouse fix. If you prefer a controller, DSFix is all you need.

The game was designed with a controller in mind and I never tried anything else, but some people claim that mouse and keyboard work fine if you apply the "mouse fix".

Yes, with the mouse fix it's a whole different game.

60 FPS, DSfix, DSMfix = best experience you can get out of Dark Souls Wink

Resumed my play-through and beat both Asylum & Taurus demon. This seems much tougher than Demon's Souls. You have limited Estus flasks and no other way of healing (I think?). Demon's Souls offered variety of herbs. No magic bar in this one. Also limited bonfire spots is making it extremely difficult for me. I like the challenge. Guess the progress would be slow on this one. Very Happy

You can also consume humanity to heal completely.

Tried with a pad and the dsmfix is waaay better for me.

You either are doing something wrong (check ini settings?) or the pad might be your best pal for this game, after all. Wink

Did you set it up correctly? Download DSMfix here.

In DSFix.ini, you need to edit the section # Dinput dll chaining, so that it reads
Code:
 dinput8dllWrapper dsmfix.dll

yup that was all done and all placed in the main directory.. as stated although it state/data folder and that is wrong lol..

there was zero change for me was still overly fast moving and found my razer for 1 and 2 buttons was fine but anthing for 1 to 12 or rather the 4 and 5 buttons did not function for any skill or use of anything.. the only one that did was mouse 3 for lock target.

just didnt feel that it was doing anything better with the fix stuff no feelings of change etc.
