even though you can do that, it kinda beats the purpose of the game imo, you're an assasin, not rambo, but whatever floats your boat

Well, technically, assassins aren't predominantly governed or predisposed towards stealth Wink Assassins are just people hired to kill or remove other people.

(oops, I meant to say "aren't")

true but i'd call that a bounty hunter, or mercenary for hire, theres a certain class and mystery to the assassin, he pops in, does his job, then pops out without getting seen, atleast thats what the assassin is known for, i'd feel like a retard if i'd kick open the door and say "HI THERE, IM GOING TO KILL YOU, COME AND FIGHT ME PLEASE, and then button smash your way through your target. Where's the skill in that.

Kinda loving this game. Reminds me of a cross between Bioshock and The Darkness which is no bad thing.

Not too good at sneaky sneaking and if you go full out combat, it's easy to get overwhelmed and die. In fact, I'm dying a lot (which again, is not bad thing). Better get better at sneaking Very Happy

Hmm.
That was over far faster than I would have liked.
All in all it was ok. The world seems fleshed out but not a ton of history or realness to it. Sort of feels like a mishmash and at times they sort of lose their way.

One thing odd was I noticed. No puzzles really. Just pretty much walk forward, find keys on table or on guy and open next door. Rinse repeat. Not bad at all. But pretty blah all around.

Looks really good on the old 360 though! Dang. I also loved some of the particle effects, and the animations on some of the characters.

How long took you to beat it? I was excited about this game, but if is something like 5hrs i'll wait for a price drop. Also the lack of puzzles is worrying as well. With all these powers i expected some decent puzzles. :S

Around 6. Didn't rush and also didn't do all the side quests. But I heard a true stealth mission can be like from 9-12 so that's not too bad.

To me there is a big issue with many of the sidequests. One of the problems, in my opinion, is that many of the sidequests in the game are just "kill this man or get to this place, or talk to this person." Not really missions. So you can do them in blindingly fast time. And the areas are far less open then the game really seems to portray. What I mean is, it is all sort of in a straight line. You can pretty much guess wherever any particular target it. It just feels a bit like there is no mystery to it. Add that to an already sort of short game and it seems weird.

It felt like it was hinging on the popularity of Bioshock or something.
But the game has some VERY weird game-play. Like finding the keys to locked doors sitting on desks right beside them, or just right on the belt of the guy standing next to the door. Not that I wanted them under a milk-box 50 miles away but the game is almost entirely straight forward with no real puzzle elements that required any thought. I don't know what I expected. I guess more like Bioshock or Thief. Instead it seemed like they mashed some stuff up.

They also did not do a good job really explaining this incredible looking world. What I mean is in Thief, even the 1st one, the game seemed to do a good job of really reflecting what was going on. Making you understand the past and present. Some of that exists here but not as much as you would expect for a AAA game.

It wasn't bad or anything it just left me scratching my head at the weirdness that occurred throughout. Like blowing a guys head off with a crossbow bolt...which seemed off. But then the heads many times reappear on the ground as static models. Like a mannequins head or something.

Magic was ok. Not that interesting to use you or anything but you could have fun messing with people. Funny enough the best part was the swordplay. It wasn't perfect but it was somewhat on target.

I don't know. It may take me a few days to really even out what I expected versus what I just played.

As with everything. That was just my own experience beating the game and the opinions I developed while doing so. Not a scientific set of facts before people freak:)

I also think, for a console this old, the game looked and performed pretty dang well.
