|
 |
I was going to the dentist (oral surgery) to make an appointment for the tooth removal, and they said: oh, we'll take it out right now
\o/
So now, I almost can't move the right side of my face, and when I laugh it looks like I'm two-face xD Or like I had a stroke
Well, at least that shit's taken care of
I should take some pain med with me just in case
No warm or cold fluids for me for some times...
How long does this take to heal? I didn't have any stitching or so, altho they did pulled out the root, was pretty impressive

It'll be rigid for a while, but the pain will be gone after a night. Just be careful with eating for a week or so, because the tissue needs to heal.
Had both my upper wisdom teeth taken out a little over a year ago. Sleep is the best thing to get over the pain right now, it was so sore both times that I couldn't have done any work even if I wanted to

They took my wisdom tooth and the one next to it (wisdom tooth had grown into the other tooth and caused a major cavity).
They split the non-wisdom tooth with some torture instrument and a hammer into 4 parts and then I think the poor dentist almost blew a blood vessel, my roots are apparently very firmly attached. Then he attacked the wisdom tooth the same way and had even greater issues.
Then he took up something that looked like some kind of miniature lathe/grinder and he evened out the bone around the areas where the teeth had been. Strangest sensation ever even though I had 4 (!!!) syringes of local anaesthesia injected into the nerve bundle.
After all that was done he put some bio-organic pads in the hole that was left from the two teeth and sew it shut. Those bio-organic pads (or whatever they were) would dissolve and help healing the wound.
2-3 hours later I had such and unbearable pain that I wanted to blast my jaw off with a shotgun. Called dentist and got the local equivalent of solvable Tylenol 3 that I drank with a straw (vile stuff). Had to take double dose to dull the pain. Two tubes (25 in each).
I guess the pain was so immense because of having two teeth removed at once, with a lot of violent force as well as grinding down part of my jaw-bone.. A double-whammy.

had 1 wisdom tooth removed couple years back. Poor thing was almost fully eaten by caries haha. They had to cut the rest in pieces and then pull it out. Fucking nightmare.

Everyone has them. Even if they're not visible, it just means they're not growing enough to come out
@ fable2: in most cases they're not removed due to caries, but because they're fucking with your other teeth.

O.o
Glad mine went pretty well.
I took pain med maybe an hour after it got removed. 600 mg ibuprofen
The feeling of numbness in the mouth is totally freaky I could move my tongue on the right side but I couldn't feel anything
@Mister_s: I still have 2 left
@Leo: well things were shitty lately, but I feel that everything will get better.
I went to enroll to my final year, and even tho the admissions are over - which meant I would have to cash in extra 30€ for that, I didn't have to pay for it ^^ So my day went better than expected
I was surprised that they just went and took it out just like that I was like: you are going to take it out right now?! But I'm not ready!
Well, the sooner the better
@huxanomaly2: well last night surely was about oral among other things

I had to remove mine because they were growing like these: (impacted wisdom teeth)
It was one of the most painful and annoying things I've ever felt, after the VIP initiation ritual.

My lower wisdom tooth is like that
But since it's not growing, I don't want to touch it
Especially after I had this removed

Doc said although my wisdom teeth are big I still won't need to remove em ever. Also have never had a cavity and won't get them ever apparently.
Wonder if getting wisdom teeth removed would be more painful than my tonsil surgery. I Hmmm guess not cause I couldn't even eat or drink with that surgery.

Haha well I didn't want to remove them either, but unfortunately they were pushing the other teeth, making them twist :/

I hope mine wont do any big damage :\ I don't need to get one out, this is causing enough problems (mostly in the food department ) now that it's out...

My top wisdom teeth started coming through at about the age of 25. It took years for them to get to where they are now, but they aren't impacted. My bottom wisdom teeth started to come through a few years ago and they are impacted, I think I'm going to need to have them pulled soon. The thing that worries me most is having dry socket.. Everyone says it's incredibly painful!
