If anyone is interested there's a colour correction tweak floating out there. AFAIK so far it's 100% PB proof due to dice (thanks dice).

It basically removes the god damn blue tint from the game (at least vanilla).

I haven't used this myself but I'm almost on the verge of wanting to have a go since the game looks SO MUCH better without all the blue.

Nice find, without the vaseline blue filter doesn't even look like the same game as before:

Yeah, unfortunately there are some "side-effects" to this. Since the tool can be used to tweak anything then you can also tweak weapons and other client based data. So potentionally it can be used as a hack which sucks balls.

I just wish dice gave us an option to be able to set the filter on/off in settings instead of having to feel like a dirty cheater using these types of tweaks.

Yeah.. it looks like crap Razz
Not sure what the settings are in those screens though Smile

The only map that looks awfully blue to me is Death Valley. I am quite fine with everything else as it is.

Yup that would be great. Smile But knowing DICE I doubt it will ever happen Razz
I can already see people trying to find holes in the code in order to exploit fishy tweaks at their advantage like ninjas xD

@Sniffty: I have no idea about the settings, the lack of AA also makes things considerably uglier Very Happy I agree though, the "palettes" don't annoy me at all. I mean, it's not like MW3 and its greenish slime Laughing

Also, something I'd love they'd (Dice) either tweak or remove completely is the sun-glare. Cause it's annoying to get blinded when just looking forward instead of at the sun. Sad

Battlefield 3 - Colour grading comparison

I know it's already discussed, but I think it looks better without the filters, etc.

Wow, everything seems much clearer Shocked

Does it work on the SP too?

It definitely looks different enough for me to check it out in-game out of curiosity (if it was an option in the settings), but I can't say it looks better. I still prefer the "cooler" look BF3 has. Indoors could be good enough, but outdoors look too warm and colorful to me Smile

Also, I don't think it looks quite so bleak in my game as they show in the video.

I've actually finished it a couple of weeks ago, on a 2nd playthrough and was quite pleased to find that the initial performance issues were sorted out between DICE and AMD.

And then I realized that it's a pity that this engine is probably NEVER going to be used in a decent SP game... Sad

Yeah this Death Valley change seems to be more natural than the other ones. Unfortunately it no longer looks like it's at night either Smile

Also, I thought that these mods didn't work for DLCs, did they find a way around that?

You guys know EA had a huge price drop on the game last week? Bought it for 9.99e. That's even less than the retarded russian cd-keys.

So I tried out the tweak and it does a little bit too much than I wanted. The game looks ace without the blue tint, however the tweak also seems to remove the "blood" effect when getting shot to bits (which is good but feels a bit like cheating), thankfully the suppression effect hasn't been touched.

Without the cold color tint BF3 just looks like every other modern shooter. Love it or hate it, it stands out and I think it looks great.
