I also can't wait for this. The idea and theme of the game are brilliant. Plus, it's made by Cyanide! On the other hand... it's made by Cyanide...
Oh, nevermind...

This should be a good way to get past Cyanide's problems with bringing a concept to life. Though, I don't know who Spiders is.

So they're better than Cyanide when it comes to the technical part. That's good enough. Also, I actually played Faery and it's the only JRPG that I enjoyed (probably because it's that only in how the mechanics work and not in everything). I didn't finish it, but I think it's a really nice game.
Which I believe is the system used by Testament and those other titles, basically a lightened version of Star-Force 5 as I understood it but I'm probably a bit off by that statement.

this is mainly as encryption, it's totally transparent for the end user, it doesn't installer drive or anything.
it's completely integrated in Steam you enter Steam code, in your steam windows and everything is managed via Steam.
so it's like a Steam addon...
i only have WarGame legit version but i assume other work the same way! Apparently juding RLD nfo they removed this encryption in the latest patches, but again, that is completely transparent for the end user ... very weird!
It varies slightly but it's otherwise like you said or well that's my knowledge and understanding of it at least, there is a separate version which you input a activation code just as with Tages or SecuROM which is then verified online but I believe other methods of gaining a activation is possible, so called manual mode.
(Retail version of Game of Thrones uses this method, Steam version works like how you described.)
