SO you cheated? Or am I understanding it incorrectly.
I guess I'm lucky, most of teh loot I get is very nice. I didn't have to use any weapon for too long. Are the drops/loot randomized?

i guess its cheating.
But its gearbox dumb decision, to make good loot only available when you play with others. Playing alone you're basicly fucked and hardly ever find anything useful.
Yesterday i tried the 4 player mod and, while i got my ass kicked with my old crap weapons, suddenly purples started dropping left and right ...
Im fine with there being more loot with 4 players (more to share) but BETTER loot ? fuck that. They are forcing me to play with others to get useful loot , no thanks.

Go kill a boss or something, turn on the mod and try again. If it's harder, it's working.
It's working fine to me.

You can also try traveling.. it will do a countdown like in multiplayer instead of instantly loading.

sorry for deleting my post, but i then noticed the delay in traveling. but lootwise it's still droping the same old crap as before, if i can actually kill something...i really hope they fix this for normals solo player

I got a sniper rifle from the bandit slaughter dome round 5 using the 4player mode. I haven't got anything as good for the next 12 levels when I wasn't using the mode, so it works.

Works just fine for me. I've played solo every single second since installation and I've found MAD loot! Tons and tons and tons of it, it's awesome ^_^ Did I mention the rapid-firing, infinite ammo wielding, no reloading required super pistol I found?
Hell, it's bad enough farming for it once  I've fought "the guy" four times last night, he dropped nothing, and then - for some reason - he just stopped appearing. I'm going to try again today.

That's always been the way in all the loot-driven aRPGs. Diablo, Diablo 2, Diablo 3, Titan Quest, Borderlands, Hellgate London --- the more players, and higher difficulty, the better the loot that drops.

Okay, does anyone know the correct procedure for farming bosses/enemies? Please? I've been trying to take out "that guy" to get the Bee shield, but he doesn't appear after the first kill. I FT back to Sanctuary and to other areas, then go back to Arid Boneyard but nothing... he just doesn't show up again.

Ah, quitting to menu/reloading does it each time.

Elemental resistance is the best by far, but The Bee is for pure damage dealing like a mofo.. and I want that for bosses.

Doesn't that mean your friend is a dick?
Does anyone know what elemental damage lab rats are vulnerable to? The spawnrate in the fridge is insane and those bastard eat a lot bullets (lvl 22 lab rats). I tried slag, electric, corrosive, burn, nothing helps.

Lab Rats just have a lot of damage soak any way, no matter which element you hit them with, so just pile on the fire and leave them to burn. Electric is no good due to lack of shields, same with Corrosive and armour, whereas fire usually has the most base damage.

Guys, I need to be sure that the 4-player tool in 1-player game thingiemajig works.
Launch Borderlands 2, continue your game, alt-tab, open the tool,drag the slider to 4 players and et voila, you're done?

Dude, I hate to burst your bubble,  but I get great stuff SP compared to MP...
Try playing with my friend, every damn chest.box. is opened by him and raped.
You will get only shit from vending machines.
He will literally sacrifice his ass to get to that box and if he dies its your fault...
I was lucky to find a Purple/Pink colored weapon that shoots small dots at a monster then a few seconds later they explode and burn the enemy...
I hate that STUPID consumes 2 or 3 bullets per shot... Im going to Mod this one day, but first Im going to play el-natural this time through...
Also I always get my save conflict with Cloud services so I upload every time I play...WTF... |
One of the issues in borderlands is that items are weighted heavily toward reward chests which people can just dive for, which is a pretty big mistake. Obviously the developers never played borderlands 1 in cooperative with randoms..
Unlike diablo 2, you have very little chance of being near enough to have a chance at grabbing loot. So it's 100% first come first served, which promotes shitty loot diving.
When I play with my friends, we establish rules around looting because no one really enjoys playing vulture styles.
What this game really needs is chest traps, so the suckers that loot dive die first
