alien 3 is a fucking fantastic film, and it caps off one of the strongest film trilogies ever. the workprint is fantastic, but even the theatrical (despite its flaws fixed in the wp), is still an excellent movie. just dont get the hate for it. its fantastic atmospherically, its great from a conceptual point, and.. honestly... i loved the actors and the character portrayals. i actually feel like watching it again.
the film is even doubly amazing considering the shit fincher had to deal with.
enjoyable, but it felt kinda muddled... and HO-LY-FUCK i wouldnt have thought it possible, but depp wasnt the best thing about it. honestly think eva green totally out-shone him in every scene they were together... that creepy grin, the mannerisms, especially in the final scene... she was amazing, how great was she!!
oh and btw i thought the make-up sucked in the film was i the only one? it looked kinda inconsistent and so low-quality. i know its supposed to be a gothic kind of extreme look, but it really looked tacky 50% of the time, when the lighting wasnt JUST right for it...
disagree, her sacrifice most definately was for something. she had a choice of living, or fighting with everything she had to destroy the aliens. thats the reason i loved the workprint version so much more, because the queen doesnt come out, and it shows that she still had time, and it makes her sacrifice that much more meaningful.
the fact that they eventually got their aliens anyway, i dont think really matters... it was all about ripleys fight, and because she never gave in, she won as far as im concerned.
also, i think alien resurrection was completely trash, and didnt really deserve to be part of the franchise. it was just a shitty cash-in, and it was sad that weaver came back for another pay-check
but doesnt really matter. if you didnt enjoy it, you didnt enjoy it, no biggy.

You all probably knew this, but there's actually the "Assembly Cut" for Alien 3. It has slightly altered plot and includes deleted/extended scenes. It's apparently what Alien 3 was supposed to be.
Awesome sci-fi, looks kinda like it was inspired by Odyssey, not a lot of special effects but a lot of cool smaller ones and just 'one' guy acting with a robot that's close by.
