Anyone who claims D3 is better than TL2 is insane.
It's only after you play TL2 you realize what a humongous fail D3 is.

Yes, sometimes the entire game goes down for maintenance and you can't play it offline, but let me present you with this little morsel of a concept -- you can't use a toilet when a janitor is fixing it, can you? No, didn't think so. Let the janitors fix your toilets, and let Blizzard fix your Diablo III. LOGIC!

Yanno... sometimes... just sometimes.... Jim Derpling is fucking hilarious. And for the right reasons too. Not the "I'm an idiot, laugh at me" reasons |
i think he was being sarcastic the entire article...
it's either that or he is an idiot.

Consider Activision your friendly neighborhood bouncer, turning away the underdressed and underfunded while allowing only the cream of society to cross the velvet rope. By making players wait in a glorified paddock for three days, the impatient and angry will also go away to play something else, meaning that potential troublemakers effectively remove themselves from the equation. This leads to a better gaming atmosphere, free from ne'er-do-wells and rich in intelligent, committed players.
Compare this to Torchlight II, where basically anybody will be allowed to play. Who knows what kind of riff raff will stroll through the door while Runic sleeps at its post? Drug addicts? Coldblooded killers such as Toby Soprano from television's Dexter? Illegal immigrants? I'm sorry, but there's a reason why airports have metal detectors and a man paid to stick his hand up the anus of foreign-looking people. It's called FREEDOM FRIES, guys. Ever heard of it?

Some nuggets of gold in that article
"Seriously, have you seen screenshots of Torchlight II? It's like the Teletubbies shat all over a box of Candy Corn and shoved it up a Care Bear's ass"
Laughed by ass of at this.
Now back to playing Torchlight 2

Is veteran supposed to be very easy or is it just the first area? I like a challenge, but I don't want to start elite if it's frustrating. Veteran seems a bit too easy though.

Found that on another website
#####
You can find this in C:\Users\YOURUSERNAME\Documents\my games\Runic Games\Torchlight 2\save\76561198002058928
This 76561198002058928 folder name can be different for other players
Open settings.txt in notepad ,,, make a backup of this settings.txt first of course.
I show you the first 4 lines
SHOW TIPS :1
SHOW_OFFLINE_PLAYERS :1
CONSOLE :0
DEBUGMENUS :0
Change console :0 to console :1
I also changed DEBUGMENUS :0 to DEBUGMENUS :1 ,,, not sure if this is needed to open console
Save settings.txt
AND in game press INS key to open console
Then type in help to see all the console commands possible
among those you will also find GOD and a lot more stuff ,
even some commands to give money stats etc etc.

Are you far into the game? I think I'll start on elite because this is not much fun.

Playing outlander in elite, only lvl 9, died only once because of being too lazy to send the pet to buy potions. It´s kind of challenging but I have the feeling it´ll get easier as stated before...:S

lvl 23 with the engineer on veteran now.. Its all fun.. aside the fact that a cannon engineer sucks hard.. its so slow.. and almost all of engies (non melee) skills are useless.. oh well

Is there any reason why my mage prefers being a warrior to being a mage which i chose? Doing vastly more damage by hitting enemies, and hardly come upon a situation where that is fatal to do.

I'm not a fan of the genre but I've given the ISOdemo a go yesterday night and I found the game extremely addictive, with much more variety/stuff to do if compared to T1.
The story is still nonexistent but I guess it's a trademark of all the aRPGs . I did a huge mistake though, I started the game on normal and it's so easy that the game basically plays itself (lvl9 at the moment). Damn.

I was under the impression the command console only worked for singleplayer mode or at most for the guy setting up the server, don't they use separate characters for SP and MP?
(I mean they're stored locally and there's already a number of trainers available but there's not much they can do about that other than creating some closed MP lobby with server side storage.)
EDIT: Myself I use a separate character (Engineer, kinda fitting.) for screwing around with the game and then the main guy (Berserker, I tend to favor melee combat and a direct approach.) for normal play, reached act 3 some time ago, second act was far better than the first one and much more challenging, some pretty great rewards too.
(Act 3 has a gambler though, got a unique from there but now I'm lacking some money since it's pretty expensive to use it, really like the environments as well, also saw some Myconoids on holiday from the Dungeons & Dragons universe. )
EDIT: Oh right, there's mods as well including the whole Steam integration for that version, no idea how that works online though but drop mods and similar will likely appear quite fast.
