Real nice, by the time I reached W4R-D3N I was out of ammo for all my decent weapons (could've missed it, but I didn't see any ammo stations in that last area), so I had no choice but to use the fast-travel station right next to the boss and go get some ammo. Oh but what's that, you wanted to go back to that station? Haha, fuck you, the nearest station you can actually use is two zones away, which means having to fight the hundreds of enemies ALL over again!

i played zero up to level 12. And i didnt find it very fun. Now either you go sniping, which isnt as fun in this as it was in bl1, imho, or you go "up close and personal" which is just a dumb and impossible thing to do. I find the whole class to be a joke by gearbox, to be serious.
Zero has like no life and gets one shot by bigger mobs. So how the fuck are you supposed to fight them melee lol ?
And for the sniping. In BL1, they actually let you snipe enemies from afar. Here, they only pop out once you are right next to them. Its really pissing me off.
Thats for soloplay. For mp, i guess he is useful with a sniper standing back or swishing around the other players, backstabbing foes.
But solo ? Forget it.

What? I could succesfully snipe enemies with Zero from half the map. The only thing that may be harder are fights in enclosed spaces and bosses.

Yeah it's been the same type of fights like in Borderlands 1 so far, enemies are located here and there when you begin a map and once you get closer to them and having killed the existing enemies (But you don't have to be right next to those places.) new enemies emerge from various shelters usually ending with a slightly above average enemy, at times a "badass" version though it's rather uncommon.
(Need to try that tool which emulates a four player environment, should make things a bit more interesting.)
EDIT: I'm playing as Axel though, that turret once upgraded has been very useful often clearing areas pretty well and also triggering effects like second wind when I'm close to death.
(Gunzerker might be even easier but I've only created a character and gotten through the intro with it, switched back after that.)

its just my impression so far, that the enemies aren't visible as they were in bl1. Lot of that has to do with the whole layout, i.e. line of sight.

True, some of the early areas are a bit enclosed such as makeshift walled encampments but there's also a number of wide open locations though many of them have these flying Rakk critters whom swarm you which can be challenging while trying to fight bandits or those snow creatures.
(Boss areas are also quite enclosed, plus constant spawning minions.)

i think zero will get better later with some skill points. some of his stuff sounds cool imo (the skill that alternates melee and gun damage bonuses for example) . his special skill is handy for getting into position, or out of danger very easily. i thought it felt a bit over powered if i used it a lot. im going to try the gunzerker for a bit and see how that goes. are the soldier and siren dramatically different from last time?

Usually there is a lone enemy in a camp, killing him triggers others to emerge from buildings. With View Distance set to High I can snipe from very far away.
Loving snipers rifles so much, they are primary weapons for my Commando class character

Playing as assassin. Sniper rifle and assault rifles are my main weapons. Sniping is cool. Also you gotta have a rocket launcher for some of the bosses, 1500 damage per shot (x3 projectiles) ftw! Game is awesome!

Yes, me. I got bored of bl1 after about 10 hours, used cheats and then never finished it. This is loads better (or maybe my gaming taste has changed). Just download it and give it a go!

^ Could still be the charm of a new game, but yeah I'd say it's better. There's still some annoyances like spawn & quick travel points, for one, but so far my pet peeve is about the quests. That is, often you go to a new area just to do one quest, and immediately after turning that in you suddenly get loads of side quests that make you go back to the area you just came from. It's an annoying way of prolonging the game (which is exactly why they did it) and it makes me want to skip most of the side quests, which is a pity really.

Just hit 32, trying melee to see if it was viable. Loving it, haven't taken all 5pt talents, just felt i needed the final talent to be effective, but with the rest it'll be even more sweet. Still, might specc to sniping and see if that's more effective with some nice guns.

With zer0 it's basically decepti0n, kill, decepti0n again, sprint to next guy and kill, rinse repeat until decepti0n runs out, evade until it's back up.

Fought any bosses of your own level yet? I just can't see how a melee Zer0 would be viable, at least for soloing.

Doesn't sound much fun tbh. Just a load of stress.

A lot of bosses have adds which help for keeping decepti0n up, but for bosses you need to carry some hardhitting weapon, like a rocket launcher. You also have a talent that helps a lot by increasing melee damage after you shoot and gun damage after you melee, so shoot, melee, shoot, melee. Health regen after kill and shield regen after kill talents help out for survivability, so adds are actually kinda needed at times. Bosses are indeed hard, but I haven't had TOO difficult a time with them, some deaths are to be expected. Might be a lot easier as ranged, but maybe large packs of enemies is harder?

It does the most damage (By far.) from what I've compared with though I haven't actually bought one yet, ammo is usually a bit limited but certain mods change it into various other functionality.
(But that's true for every weapon, had a Vladof sniper rifle with really basic sight but it shot faster than my assault rifle.)
