|
 |
I'm very curious as to how many each and every one of you can do, I recently started taking these up in my regular workout routine. So far I can do 5 consecutive and perfectly performed wide grip pullups.
Also let me know how many of these you can do,
Oooh and if you can also shoot me your body weight, it would also be helpful, since your own bodyweight kinda determines whether or not you'r even able to do these, if you weigh 120kg then you can kinda forget even doing half a pullup:LOL:

umm... what? You're saying that if someone weighs 120kgs of pure muscle, he can't do these things?

He obviously means a fat guy. If you tried to make a joke with your post, it failed.

I did not try to make a joke.
Just tried to clarify some things since some things can get hard to do if your muscles sort of develop over certain limits.

Well, in regards to the comment about 120kg and pure muscle, there's actually body builders with nothing but muscle, weighing in at 140kg and unable to do a single pullup, just cuz they can't handle pulling their own weight. So its not only directed at fatties.

I used to do chinups each day. Did 3 sets, 20/18/16 was my best from what I remember.
These days I am lazy, probably 13/14 on the first try and I would be a mess.
Haven't trained properly in 8/9 months.
I weigh 68kg atm, back then around 70.

Glad to hear most of you are reasonably in shape, I was just curious cuz when I first started doing these, they seemed impossible to do, but with perseverance comes eventual gain. After just 2 months I can notice an increase in muscles in my back area, and its considerable already.
I just put up a pull up bar on my attic and it takes very little effort to spend some time with it every other day, beats going to the gym.

Best way to work up to doing these, I found, is doing negatives. Step up on a chair to reach the high point of the exercise, then control your weight on the way down as slowly as possible - repeat to failure.
But yeah, great exercise, and less monotonous than lifting weights. (Although it's a good idea to add weight using a Dip Belt when you start hitting a high rep range.)
