Try Diablo 3, I'm sure you will regret it right away
But aren't we all addicts in some way?
I agree mate but everytime i put a new game on like i was playing project cars before I'm like holy fucking shit, everything is just soo good .
The last 2 years the development in games has been nothing but amazing if you ask me.
I'm getting into games i wouldn't dream of playing years ago.
Ryzen 5 3600 cpu@3.60 Mhz.
hyper x 32 gb ddr 4 memory.
Msi Carbon gaming pro ac motherboard.
Evga 600 psu.
Msi Armour rx 8 gb 5700 Graphic card.
Ps4 Standard 500gb.
Lg 4k 42 inch tv.
Oculus Quest 2.
I wish I was that easy to please on video games most everything has been garbage
Same
I LOVE gaming...but I cant find anything new that I dont go "Oh look, something that's like what I played 6 to 10 years ago, but with better graphics and shittier gameplay".

I had that fuck games phase but nowadays there are some quality games, thanks to indie devs like mojang/minecraft and mods like dayz. Companies wake up. Steam is a fucking selling machine and they rediscover the pc.
We see all new games and much more love to detail than 2-3 years ago.
I guess my problem is I got into games when it was nerds making gamers for nerds, they made games they wanted to play, not games only they knew would sell..it wasn't "mainstream" and the console vs PC didn't exist..the console was the SNES and SEGA.
And they don't make games like that anymore. the GOOD sim city games, and FPS shooters where they didn't NEED to tell you anything on how to play, you figured it out by playing it...
and they didn't make anything easy for you..you died? sucks to be you, there was no checkpoint, restart the whole damn level, with no guns..
Games where thinking was encouraged, instead of 'learning winning patterns' and learning to play was part of the challenge, not a tutorial of 'press LMB to fire' intro to the game..
They didn't need to add achievements to make you feel you accomplished something..beating the game felt that way.

I think I'm addicted to computer games.
Every time i search or look up new games they just seem so fecking awesome these days.
Anyone else the same?
Play Mass Effect 3 (without EC) and you won't touch any other game anymore. It took 4-5 months for me to pick up a small game (tiny troopers)

Yep, that's another reason why i don't game anymore. Since 2010 i don't game much anyway, companies only care about graphics and DLC's and they forget about stories! (CoD is a sample of it)

See I've always thought the opposite, a story is great..but the game should be able to carry it self by game play even if you ignore the story. (which I usually do).
Enjoying the story shouldn't be a requirement to being able to enjoy the game, it should be a bonus to it if you are into that type of thing. They shouldn't be dependent on each other to get into the game.
Take Quake 2, I played HOUR AND HOURS of that game, not one clue what its story actually was.
OR warcraft 2, I dint think I ever watched any cut scenes in it..or did the 'story line' part. I always ignore the story line game play in RTS games and go right for skirmish mode against AI's.
OR even baulers gate..Not one clue what it was about..I start slapping space bar when they talk so I could get back to the fun game.
Everyone tells me "you should play 'X" game it got a GREAT story line!" ..yea so does that book I have over there, if I wanted to read a story, Id read my book. I'm looking for interactive fun

with the exception of adventure games off course, whom hardly exist anymore.

I play games for the stories, the only story that i got blown away by was Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, it was truly a master piece made by Bioware. The second game was Mass Effect 1. If i want to play storyless games i would play some Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield etc. Companies are only focused on DLC those days and that makes me sick.
I was like that some years ago. Now I just play what seems interesting. I Am rather easy to please in graphics department but I like myself good story ,music and gameplay. I am now not playing anythign.
I used to complete 2 or 3 games in a weekend. Now its one game scattered for like 5 to 10 evenings.
But I like it that way. I find a good game and play soe every night

I mean... I automaticly compare everything to old game when it comes to graphics etc and so everything nowadays is amazing. Thats for me and my father. He used to play/watch me playing games like blood, duke3d, hexen, max payne etc. Now when we play game like dead space he is schocked beyond belief!. Me too. I think many people underestimate how good graphics are nowadays. Sure if not so long console lifespan, cg woule have been even better but thats sai. I adore gfx for couple of last years. Even on stupid xbox360. Some games looks so amazing when looking past the jaggies and so cinematic that its fantastic.
Sure I still play blood and othher old games constantly. I love em and still think they look great. Especially games like Unreal or half life which amazed me back then, still bring back memories of how amazing that waterfall or lips sync was and it is perfect for me all over.
I have that gift which not many have. To replay a game like it was my first time I just sink into it. (most of time. Some games dont work)
And gameplay? I am not sure if I got older and learned all the tricks or what but it is surely more complex nowadays than old games.
For most part old games are really clunky and are really simple in design while new games offer much to much aid etc.
Here I like old and new. I dont mind how new games play. There might be too much simplicity but its not in a design. Its in aiding the player. Really. What was more hardcore in shadow warrior than lets say gears of war or crysis? You were playing only using keyboard and slashing opponents.
