So today i try to send an email and get an error. apparently my domain host 'wont resolve'. check my website. fucking gone.

ok, so the website expired august 13... their logs show that two notifications were posted on july 14 and august 13.
NOWHERE DID THEY EVER FUCKING SEND A NOTIFICATION AFTER THE FUCKING THING EXPIRED TO TELL ME THE MOTHERFUCKING PAYMENT WAS DE-FUCKING-CLINED.
i knew the cc was expiring so new cc details were updated but apparently their fucking system didnt accept them, and their system never fucking told me about it. are. you. fucking. kidding. me.

if i can figure out how the fuck to configure godaddy to forward emails (EVERYTHING was tied up with these cunts), then id be slightly happier.
this is such horse shit... cutting me off without even telling me that there was a payment problem.

EMAIL FORWARDING - 100 PACK

*shrugs* far as i can tell, i have free email forwarding...
im positive ive got this set up right.. ive removed the nameservers i had linking my domains to my host, and when i go into the email settings on godaddy and check servers, it says "Your MX records are correct." but buggered if i know what im doing. shit its been so god damn long since i had to do any of this shit 
my forwarded emails are stuck on: (Pending Setup: validating MX record )
and i dont know if its something ive not set up correctly, or if its just because it takes time for some settings to be updated/implemented. argh.
edit: ok one of the emails i set up just changed to 'active', and i tested it and the email came through, so atleast SOMETHING. FUCK.
so, if i can get the other emails... ah fuck ive probably fucking forgotten most of them... set up through godaddy, then thats a massive start. FUCK.

brilliant. not only do they have zero interest in keeping me as a customer, but apparently all of this was caused because i had to create a new billing profile JUST to update my cc details, and THEN manually add my products to it?! NO other renewable service has billing shit THIS fucked up. everything else just lets me UPDATE my fucking cc details, and IF i fuck something up, they TELL MY FUCKING ASS before they cut me off!!

That shit is so fucked up...
I am so scared my hosting company will pull this shit, i manually print the bills each year and have them in a folder on my desk. I have 5 domains/sites with other expiry dates, i cant remember which one expires when. So every month i go through the folder to check if anything needs renewal/payment. I just cant backup all those sites all the time, i goddamn pay them, so they should offer service.
I am really considering buying a 1 U linux box and just hook it up on my home link. I think I can get a decent box for 1-2k. I make 500 advertising revenue a year and now i am paying ~150 a year for the sites. So, given all that, 1k is an acceptable cost. I could even rent out space to some friends of mine. I think most of the sites would have no problem getting traffic through my home connection.
Any of you guys have an idea how much hardware is needed for website traffic? Everything together i am getting 5-10k hits a day on the sites, so i cant imagine i would really need anything high end.
EDIT: i just checked my hardware supplier we use at work. 850 euro (VAT included) gives you a 1U, 8GB RAM, 500GB, Intel Pentium G620 dualcore box. High-end, enterprise quality. You can get additional drives/RAM and RAID controller/hot swap for ~1100. So yeah, I am really going to check that out.

ACTUALLY. in defence of godaddy... they're the ONLY ones who haven't let me down during this whole thing.
godaddy just has the domain names. the sites were hosted elsewhere... and thank fuck for that, otherwise who knows what kind of trouble id have getting the domains back.
