Staged or not, it's the gameplay that's important at this point, even though there's a lot more that'll be probably shown in the future.

That is by far the dumbest decision I've seen in gaming ever since some twat at AVTI said "I know! Let's make D3 online only!" Oh well, there goes my interest.

Can they even do that?
You bought it so you own it, seems kinda unrealistic that they can enforce such a thing.

who the hell on his right mind would spend money in something you could possibly lose in seconds? |
There are TONS of people in this world with far more money than brains. Throw in a competitive element, and these imbeciles will spend whatever amount of money necessary to gain a perceived advantage. Once they die, they'll bitch and moan because they didn't read (or don't know how to) the highlighted, bolded, red text that accompanied the purchase.

The animations seem to be very.. Arma 2-like but it doesn't too bad. They also copied the weapon customization directly from Crysis.

who cares?
erm me. Some pop up company comes from nowhere, , claims to have been working on exactly the same thing as dayz for 'years' its a lie, they are copying someone elses ideas, mechanics etc etc to make a quick buck which as we all know will turn out sloppy and poor. Meanwhile rocket (who is very passionate about his game/mod) loses sales to this piece of shit
yeah me, I care

Competition is good, it doesn't matter if they have borrowed Day Z's ideas, day z is hardly polished itself and has plenty of flaws. If a popup company wants to try and improve upon it then that is great. Players having more choice is a good thing, and they will play whichever game is superior.

come on, you guys can't seriously claim dayz did anything really original?
everyone's had a wet dream about an open zombie sim ever since fps games became popular
arma and even the original flashpoint had numerous open world zombie mods on them
it's just that dayz was the first online persistent one
which is not to say it's not awesome - it is - but it's standing on an army of existing shoulders

I'm sorry Monkey, but I completely agree with Spaceghost on this one; it's no problem for games to take influence from other games and if War Z ends up being great; then obviously people will play it. If it's crap, then nobody will and it will bomb. People shouldn't stop buying games just because Dev A is worried about losing sales -- it's up to Rocket to step up his game if he wants to win customers over in comparison to another game.
