^ He promised to do it if the KS got funded this weekend. It's a raw take and a bit out of his vocal range obviously, but he also sang some of the songs in New Vegas (and those were actually pretty good).
If people don't want this type of game anymore then i certainly don't know what's going on. This game has gotten quite the sum in 24 hours and it's safe to say this genre is missed. I for one really look forward to it.
Sent in $20. This is fucking awesome. I hope they can live up to it in execution (since their games rarely fail in story or characters). What a great idea.
Project Eternity is going to be a reality because of you. We've hit our goal quicker than anyone expected, and the last day has been overwhelming. We are in the office discussing stretch goals right now! Stay tuned for another update today

We are excited to announce the stretch goals for Project Eternity!
1.1 million, Base Goal – Achieved!
Base game includes three races, five classes, and five companions. We have ideas for these, but we want to hear your opinions on what you'd like to see. Stay tuned to Kickstarter, our website, and our forums to join in on the conversation.
1.4 million, New Playable Race, Class, and Companion!
Expands your options for character creation and adds a companion of the new class.
1.6 million, a Mac Version of Project Eternity and The Story Grows!
We've listened and we’ll make a Mac version of the game at this tier. We're also going to add a new major storyline along with new quests, locations, NPCs, and unique loot (special histories everyone?).
1.8 million, New Playable Race, Class, and Companion!
The options grow for your main character and the roster of your motley crew expands with the addition of a new companion from the selected class.
2.0 million, Player House!
Get your own house in the game that you can customize, store equipment in, and where your companions hang out, or, as the elves say, "chillax".
2.2 million, a new Region, a new Faction and another new Companion! And, dare we say it... ? LINUX!
Great news, everyone! For the Tarball Knights of Gzippia out there, we'll be adding Linux support!
Also, the world of Project Eternity grows in a major way with the inclusion of a whole new faction and the territory it holds. This adds new NPCs, quests, magic items, and hours of gameplay. And yes, you got it, another companion.
We've been listening to your feedback, and have the following announcements:
DRM Free: We are looking into it! Please check back for updates.
Digital Only Tiers are coming!
PayPal is coming asap. Please be patient!
New $5k Tier. We are looking into a new $5k tier since it sold out so quickly! We are looking into equivalent alternatives.
If they managed ~1.1 million in two days then those stretch goals within 30 days doesn't seem impossible, of course things will probably slow down a bit as this goes on, nice to see it funded already though.
1.5 years is definitely a short time if they're starting from scratch. Doesn't really matter who you are or how much money you're going to have available. For something like this to really shine and be wholesome/complete - you need around 3 years, I'd say.
They need to sell the concept, and that's fine - but there's no way this will be what we all want it to be if they only have this time available. I don't see that happening.
It might still be a great game, but it'll be short on content, a buggy mess, or a vast array of partially implemented visionary ideas - or a combination of the three. It's not like Obsidian has a great record of releasing finished games either.
If I'm wrong - I'll be right back here eating my own anus with onion rings.
I don't know from what experience you are saying these things but BG2 took exactly 1 year and 8 months to create. I'm pretty sure Obsidian knows what it is doing.
Ehm, BG2 was based on an already existing and fully functional engine with a LOT of assets re-used.
The issue here is that they're starting from scratch - at least as far as I can tell.
As for my experience, it's based on 30 years of following the gaming industry with significant intensity and interest.
Very, very few developers can pull off a meaty and wholesome RPG - starting from scratch - with 1.5 years available. Beyond that, we're talking Obsidian - who're famous for releasing unfinished or significantly buggy games.

It's a given that they are using their Onyx engine for this which they should be quite familar with by now so that takes a good chunk from the dev time.
I hope they will avoid the traditional races(elves and dawrfs etc..) I don't mind races inspired by those, but I would like to see Tiefling like races instead
They don't seem to have clear-cut goals like PA, it's like they wrote something just for the heck of it.
Still they should reach the target goal in a few days.
I kinda agree, they should take Uber entertainment approach with PA ,the way they did it was more professional , this way was funny, and they manage to Maxed-up the funding, the current obsidian way is kinda disappointing, hope it will be changed soon
I think the response suprised them, I think they weren't counting on reaching their goal so fast. I'm sure that once they get over their shock, they'll do a better job with the stretch goals ^^
