which was crap because only the water etc was new with the source engine, rest of it was the old engine. combined called source gold or so

They/Gabe have said they would love to (properly) remake HL1 and are interested in doing it at some point (among several other things, eg an MMO) but there are no available resources for it.
As awesome (or not..?) Black Mesa is going to be, it's built on the deprecated 2007 version of the engine which cannot match the visuals or performance of eg the CS:GO version, and it's not the canon way of how the BM incident happened etc, just a fan re-interpretation. Also Black Mesa won't be available on consoles.
So a canon multiplatform remake by Valve would still make plenty of sense, even in the post-Black Mesa released gaming world.

moders manage,and still improving,the original HL2 in terms of graphics,characters models,while it can't be Cryengine 3 level,I'm pretty sure it can be signify improve the look of BM.

They are releasing 14 out of the 18 levels and they are reimagining the last 4 for a later release. Good enough for me.

Sorry! I wasn't intending to make you feel dumb Just trying to give a bit more back info. I'm still pissed about the Xen removal and I don't care how people pretty it up with excuse after excuse, it's silly and pointless removing the END of a game. Just keep the bloody thing in development, finish it properly, release and bask in the well-deserved glory. Now we'll have BM and BM-Ep2 in another few years. YAY(!) |
No, we'll have BM, then BM-Ep1 with the 1st level of Xen, then BM-Ep2 with the second, and the last two will be released when HL-Ep3 (or HL3) is released...
