It's funny how over the time, Apple keynotes turned more constrained and down to earth, while Samsung keynotes are full blown faggotry now.

@Werelds:
Gotta disagree with you on the stock Android launcher, i find it horrible, aswell as it's keyboard.
Sense 4.0 without all the gimick htc spyware shit is the way to go.
ESPECIALLY their keyboard.

Seems like you didn't even bother reading my previous post, Sense been there before Apple was even thinking of entering the phonemarket. So GTFO with your crap saying Sense is bad.
Guess you never had a Sense 4.0 phone before
Easy to claim shit if you don't even have it.

No, sorry saus. I run a clean CM 7.2 w/ LauncherPro, runs much better than any Sense 3.5 ROM does whilst providing more flexibility. I can't comment on Sense 4.0, as I haven't really used it much.

Well yes, 3.5/3.6 was shit, hence why everyone wanted 4.0 ASAP on their Sensation.

so you have to improve it yourself to make it better since it out of the box is a worthless piece of shit? I do love android logic. |
Correction: derp consumer logic. Samsung and HTC throw a lot of crap on their devices, which somehow attracts people. Get a Nexus or an Asus device and you don't need a custom ROM at all.
And to say iOS is without flaws...
I love my iPad but the lack of a good keyboard and better browser is keeping me from getting an iPhone, and iOS 6 being as useless as it is, doesn't change that |
disable safari. install chrome = win. I use chrome on my ipad. it's so much better than safari. and chrome also works on iphones. bookmarks through out your google account = awesome. using sabnzbd through my ipad in the bedroom or sickbeard = more awesome.
my galaxy s2 could've been such a better phone if it had less features and more functions.

Chrome's even slower than Safari is though, because Google has to build on top of Apple's crap rather than having the *actual* Chrome build you get on other platforms

as one that already have both Ipad 2 and Galaxy 3,I personally prefer the android OS on iOS,they main iOS advance of iOS is the App's catalog, but for me it's not longer something I need that much, and now NDS emulation for android is advancing.

Why people still argue about performance? Who the fuck cares, when even iPhone 4, with its single core, got a smoother OS experience and better software (apps and games). Like PS3, CPU might be impressive theoretically, but if you don't have the software, it's useless. Who cares if iPhone 5 has 2 cores or 4 cores or A15 or a custom armv7s design, when the software is already better, and will utilize it much better? But sure, SGS3 will see you listen to you and understand you.
My bad, one area where the software is worse is the keyboard. Paul <3

Note the single threaded performance, the area that really matters.

I made a point of it because the typical performance whores on here and other places keep saying how 'slow' the iPhone 5 is due to not have quad cores, etc. When the simple fact of the matter is that for real world usage it is a hell a lot faster, not to even mention the GPU performance.

The fact that Android requires a quad core CPU to work smoothly should be enough to shut all the "performance whores" up.
But really, what software besides games requires such performance? I cannot think of one app on my iPhone or iPad that really requires any faster CPU. It is always the Infinity Blades, the NOVAs and the Real Racings that could always use more juice. If I really need to think hard, perhaps some photo editing software might need the memory performance. But, eh.
This is true for both Android and iOS, of course, but Android is sluggish by its nature. With Butter, it is a little smoother, but again, it needs a quad core running at 1.3GHz to be smooth.

Safari is also slow as hell - not to mention horribly programmed. My Desire loads webpages, particularly ones with a fair bit of JS, faster than a 4S or my iPad 3 (although the latter one obviously has the higher resolution to deal with). There's more software I can point out that is in fact slower, not to mention that Apple's copied content are pretty bad copies (the notification center is still not up to par). Also funny when you switch to mail from browser because you need to look up some stuff; you get to watch the tab magically have to reload because iOS can't actually do multitasking. Particularly on slow web servers or crap WiFi/3G/4G that's pretty fucking annoying, even on my measly Desire that shit doesn't happen
And honestly, you haven't used an Android phone with a proper ROM. Before you go "LOLOL NEED TO FLASH ROM BEFORE IT'S USABLE" - that's not for all phones/tablets and iOS needs its jailbreak for a lot of useful tweaks as well. I've said it before, but stock Google/Asus ROMs are fine, they don't come with bloatware like Crapsung.
Fact simply is that iOS simply relies a lot more on the GPU than Android used to; with ICS and particularly JB, that has changed for the better. It's not up to iOS levels on all devices yet (read: non-Google/Asus), but it's enough to actually make ICS as smooth as iOS. A N7 is in fact ridiculously smooth, much more so than even a 4S. On the other hand, Nitro is still nowhere near V8 or Presto - aside from the fact that you do need a JB to use it outside Safari (thanks for the Nitrous tip btw, that sure as hell made things much more enjoyable with Chrome instead of Safari). Even Gingerbread, where GPU acceleration was first introduced for phones, is plenty to make my Desire be just as smooth as a 4S.
You can all you want, but I'm not the one claiming either side is better, that's you guys. Both have their drawbacks and until either side fixes their shit, I'll always be comparing them. There's a reason I was on the fence about a Transformer or iPad for months.
I'm also not the one making up bullshit like "Android requires a quad core to work smoothly". I'll make a video of my Desire (with my iPad ) to prove just how full of shit that statement really is.

Nitrous not found in Cydia search. Reading the comments suggest it might have been removed due to crashing too much.

All my claims of OS superiority are always half humorous, of course. Because at the end of the day, it's irrelevant. What matters is the software offered on both sides. For me, there is a serious advantage on iOS.
But you claiming that you desire is as smooth is as smooth as iPhone 4 is laughable, come on. Open http://www.ynet.co.il/home/0,7340,L-8,00.html on your browser and see how smooth it is. It's smooth even on iPhone 4. From what I tested, it's not smooth on SGS3 and almost completely smooth on Nexus 7. But I bet it's completely smooth on your amazing Desire.
