are they making ingame microtransactions like diablol 3?

Diablo 3 has no mictrotransactions, RMAH is a system of monetizing the game. As for PoE, yes, it will have those, but it won't be Pay-to-Win. You'll be able to buy things like additional inventory tabs in shared stash, different spell animations, things like that. Go to PoE official site, they got it all laid out.

Man, you can't be more surprised then me, heh. I think it partially came from the dissapointment that D3 was for me. I tried playing PoE before the release of Diablo III and you know, I always had that litlle devil on my shoulder whispering "D3 can't suck, Blizzard can't fuck it up, it'll be the greatest h'n's game ever" and well, we all know how it turned out... So I tried PoE and suddenly BAM - I'm in love with it. Crazy Smile Also, the fact is that this game change for a whole lot better during the last couple of monts. And it'll be even better.

For the most part Poe is what D3 should have been

Yea, imagine D3 combat (a bit toned down of course) with PoE itemization, skills system and all its mechanics = pure hack'n'slash orgasm Smile

And Diablo 3 classes, because I find POE classes somewhat unappealing.

Even if you do play it now, sometimes they wipe characters when there are major updates. You can always redistribute your points if you remember exactly how you did it the first time. It's mildly frustrating to do but at you don't lose any of your stash.

Hmm, their purchase page says otherwise.

Quote:

Although you're buying Beta access, your characters and items will still be wiped along with the rest of the Beta characters when we enter Open Beta. If we wipe characters or move them to a "Legacy League" for technical or balance reasons before Open Beta, your characters will be affected along with everyone else. Purchasing Beta access does not entitle you to any special treatment in game and you can still be muted or banned for inappropriate behaviour.

All microtransactions purchased during Closed Beta will be retained in Open Beta. You won’t lose any purchased microtransactions during the character wipe that will occur at the end of Closed Beta.

~edit~

Oh wait.. sorry, I get what you mean. There won't be any more wipes UNTIL the Open Beta starts, right?

I stand corrected. I do want to quote what you posted in the D3 thread here because I'm in total agreement:
Quote:
One small tip Sin, if you start playing PoE. Identify every boots, right from the start, until you find ones with +movement speed. The game becomes much, much more fun with that simple stat Smile

I don't know why that is but it seems like the mobs scale up to your speed somewhat. Not to the point where you can't outrun them if you need to, but everything is so much better. I have some nice boots with 3x the armor of my current ones but I don'r want to give up my movement speed. I'm a DPS based marauder and i just started the merciless difficulty and sometimes I need just to get the Hell out of dodge.

Yea, movement speed not only increases the comfort of playing but also grants amazing level of control over the battlefield. It' a bit overpowered in that regard, imho Very Happy

I don't see that. I'm at level 57 and merciless has taken my ass, wrote it's name on it and handed it back to me. Then it proceeds to laugh and kick me in my ass-less back. Overpowered? No I don't believe that; though maybe I need to re-roll some stats or find better equipment. It could be I'm just not that good...It has to be re-roll some stats and equipment, yeah that's it.

That video of maurader build made me motivated to have some fun with the builds. So right now I'm experimenting with templar with novas and replenishing mana with kills - but so far novas doesn't scale to enemy level as fast as I would wish so on higher levels it's harder to kill anyone.
The second build is necromancer witch - it's still low level and tbh not so much fun to play as I thought. The zombies sometimes doesn't respond to enemies around them and tend to go down too quickly. And this build is no fun around major bosses were you are alone with them because of lack of corpses. They should change the corpse requirement to skill cooldown in my opinion.

Anyway this is so much better than D3.

It's still some way off. First, there must be PvP patch, then they have to release Act III and after that happens we can expect open beta. Don't expect it sooner than in November.

Hi VGA,
We’re having another Path of Exile Open Beta Weekend this weekend, September 14-16. We are getting closer to the permanent Open Beta, but still need as much stress-testing as we can get.
This Open Weekend is also the ideal time to invite your friends to play Path of Exile with you. Over 55,000 players joined our last Open Weekend in July.
We’ve just deployed the 0.9.12 Beta patch, which adds new skills, more keystone passives, additional quest content, substantially improved minion functionality and introduces a new look for item hovers in-game. We’ve added several unique items designed by Brother Laz, author of the popular Diablo 2 mod Median XL, and our ‘Diamond Supporter’ fans.
Check out the FAQ about the Open Weekend at www.pathofexile.com/publicweekend/.
We will make the game servers public from 5pm on Friday 14 September, Pacific Daylight Time until 11:59pm on Sunday.
We’re hosting four developer-run events at various times over the weekend, so you can show off the skills you developed playing earlier versions of the Beta too.
Kind regards,
Chris Wilson

They should fix I don't know how to call it exactly aiming/snapping your cursor to mobs. I hate when I can't mark some smaller mobs and my character is running around like an idiot.

They should just get rid of those fucking crabs mobs. So annoying to aim them not to mention u got to kill them twice if you can't freeze-shatter them.
