American McGee Presents Bad Day LA? Don't know about Grimm for sure, but I've also heard it's not of top-notch quality.
His games are usually average in terms of gameplay but do always have fantastic art design.

I hope you have an iPhone... This is unlikely to be a PC/console game, as they had said Alice 2 was going to be their last.

F2P?!?!
So how are they funding it?

That spells for a curiosity but not a fully fleshed PC game. Meh.
Alice and Scrapland were great but that's pretty much it and those were made a long time ago (for those that never played Scrapland, wth!? It's awesome!)

Bleh, they went all anime/manga with it. Way to waste an awesome idea.

Not surprised, again this is what Spicy Horse said in mid 2011: http://www.americanmcgee.com/wordpress/2011/05/16/spicy-horse-gallops-in-a-new-direction/
Quote: | Going forward the focus is going to Free to Play, Online, Multi-player games built using high quality 3D assets and distributed via mobile platforms and F2P operating partners world-wide. This strategy effectively combines two things Spicy has proven it’s great at – casual online games (Grimm) and AAA console games (Alice). My belief is that this combination will be the next big wave in the casual online space. Where audiences have had their fun with great 2D Facebook games, the market demands evolution, and we hope we’ve got the secret formula.
Over the coming weeks and months we expect to announce more details about a range of exciting projects, including the collaboration with PopCap. For the “Alice” fans, we’ve got some twisted fairy tales being adapted into F2P format – very dark stuff. And the creative minds at the studio are also stretching out, building a diverse offering of IPs which we hope will capture audiences around the world. |
The underlined obviously refers to this game, which was at the time unannounced.

I swear to god if they let EA publish them again I'm going to rage quit. I bought maddness returns on steam during that huge sale in July and I never even got to play the damned thing because of EA's broken DRM. Valve was nice enough to refund me.

Art style is heavily inspired by Okami which is fine by me since i loved that game,
the setting is interesting and is not done to death, atleast outside of japan i guess^^
