Only thing I have of worth is Chrono Trigger (US) boxed with all the posters and stuff included, near mint condition. Got it in a display case sitting on the shelf in my office.

I still prefer to have an actual CD for all of my games. I know I can DL a lot of them from Steam, I know about ISO demos, but I like owning physical copies. Some people collect Wine, some people collect Guns, i want to collect video games. For example, I already have the ISOs of Vampire:Bloodlines, It was on sale really cheap on Steam but i still spend about $30-$40 buying a used physical copy. I still have a lot of of older games in the jewel cases but no longer have the big boxes. On my desk right now: Anachronox, Blade of Darkness, Wizards and Warriors, Crusader: No Remorse, Ultima IX. As i look in my closet I see I still have a sealed copy of Crusader: No Regret. It's been sitting there for months and I never really paid it any attention until this thread made me think about my older stuff. I really need to stop playing Path Of Exile . Smile

I had a chance to buy that for $50 at a used video game place. It looked like it had been opened and then put back in the box. I had no idea what it was I held in my hands back then as i had just started playing RPGs (FFVII started it for me). There is a spot on the wall where I'll slam my head in regret every now and then....excuse me I'll be right back.....(in the distance *THUD*).. okay I'm back. The only thing that keeps me sane is i bought the PS1 Final Fantasy Chronicles collection that had the game in it.

I have quite a decent collection of jewel case cds from the start of the cdrom era, too many to list really. Most started out as the A4 size cardboard cases, but it just took up way too much space. Had to get rid of them when I still lived at my parents place, to this day regret I didnt just arrange storage somewhere. The jewel cases and cds are stuffed in a full size closet now, and by stuffed I mean thrown in some plastic bags lol not ordened or arranged, but meh I dont care about the actual disks , The awesomo boxes would have made a way better collection.

a few titles i have in my display closet instead of the storage one is

Red baron (the 1990 dynamic/sierra one)
Tribes 1/Earthsiege combo
Shattered steel(/swoons)
Omikron: the nomad soul(/swoons some more)
magic carpet
Falcon 2 and 3
Everquest
Ultima online
and a few other gems

A friend of mine bought me it for my 28th birthday.. I was couldn't talk for a while afterwards. Its a pain to get hold off these days (in that condition) and costs £150-200.. He also got me all the UV protective cases for displaying it..

I forgot his birthday............................. Okay

I used to have loads of these huge PC boxes with a lot of adventure games I specifically remember (Larry Laffer 7) Baldur's Gate and Diablo I/II. Sad I threw them away, but I still have the discs in the basement.

With that said, I do have some boxes lying around here:

The original POP trilogy:

Grim Fandango (from LucasArt's classic), Dreamfall, Second Sight, Dreamfall OST. I do have the original The Longest Journey in the basement.

Splinter Cell tetralogy (I do have the original in the basement)

Hitman Contracts (I do have all of them in the basement apart from Blood Money)

F.E.A.R (5 CDs So Much Win), Fahrenheit (aka Indigo Prophecy) and Company of Heroes

In addition to that I have the collector's edition for The Witcher 1 and 2 and GTA IV retail box, the one that fol opens. Wink
all polish versions. Shifty Fellar I hate localized versions and would never by them.
I'm so glad I never bought boxed games, because that crap would take space and would look stupid. Plus paper boxes are fragile. All the crap is in DVD-Rs and external harddrives so I can delete that game crap anytime I want when I will get older and would not care about games even more.

Apart from PoP: The Two Thrones, all the games there have a selectable language (Polish/English). Smile

Besides, I have all of the above (apart from Contracts and Grim Fandango) on Steam in English version either way. Wink

And believe me, there's nothing I hate more than localized versions. These are the games I bought before I got myself a bank account and a debit card. I actually prefer to pay 10-15 dollars more just to have the game in English.

Guys never forget that collecting mania is almost a mental disorder. I know I've been bitten by it, but luckily I wasnt buying those games, only downloaded. If I would, I would be homeless by now. Always remember, you would get older and would regret collecting games. Spend that money on vacation with friends instead. Games are just discs recorded in a factory and not worth the money they are charging.
Here is my list of pirated games: (Last entry was in 2010 or 2011, because after that I stopped cataloging).

Collecting something is a brain disorder? Rolling Eyes Please. It's a hobby. Unless it negatively affects your daily life there's nothing wrong with having a hobby.

I thought this thread was about boxed copies etc. I have countless amounts of original CD games that are unfortunately without their boxes or manuals. As for "warez" I got an archive of about 640+ CDs/DVDs full of rips/isos from 2007 and before. I don't burn warez anymore, done with pirating. I enjoy hunting for deals much more then getting stuff for free nowadays.

My most priced ones are; Championship Manager Italia - been on my shelf for 18 years straight now, Blade Runner and ofcourse BG1 and 2. My favorite tho is my box for Pirates! for my commodore, I can still draw the map of the carribean from memory - cities and all.

Damn...where have you seen those prices? I've only seen the opened pack go for 100 bucks. Then again I haven't seen any other shrink wrapped ones so I dunno what it's worth. Only other person I know that has one is Epsilon but he's got the EU version of it.

What? Is it because its a super special edition it goes for 100 bucks? I know more people than I have fingers with BG and BG2 in fine condition boxes etc.
