e.g. look under the roof of that tower in the upper right.

I like that this SSAO seems to be subtle compared to many implementations where the main character would suddenly have a dark menacing aura of pure darkness.
But it does introduce weird effects i could not capture in stills. But can be very apparent in motion.

thanks for screens

I just rang both bells and found the Iaito sword. I currently have 16 STR and 20 DEX. Is it better to keep upgrading DEX for the Iaito? Or is it better to turn it into a non-scaling Lightning weapon? And is the Iaito katana an appropriate weapon to take to Sen's Fortress?

If you're going to turn it into a lightning weapon wait until you're done with Anor Londo (the place that comes after Sen's), since one of the bosses is resistant to lightning. Plus you will find a lightning weapon in Sen's Fortress, the lightning spear.

an easy mode could be made however they liked. It could be subtle changes or they could nerf the whole fucking thing. Or as simple as adding some new bonfires.

I'd say you shouldn't turn it into a lightning weapon. Make it +15 and just use weapon buffs if necessary.

Of course, I haven't tried elemental weapons in this version, but they were beyond OP in standard Dark Souls and made the game too easy.

Nice find, thanks Smile

*update* just tried it out of curiosity and it's so much better. I'm using the default settings except for the sensitivity (on 6). A lot faster and more precise than the pad. I still don't love the game and I think I will never do, but at least it's playable with m/kb. Smile

They are nerfed into near-uselessness in PtD, unless you're doing an extremely low SL playthrough. For normal play, dex/faith or dex/int and a +15 is the way to go now, no contest. The only elemental weapon that's still as good as ever is Quelaag's Furysword, and even that took a 15 AR nerf to its fire damage at 10 humanity.

Also, I highly suggest testing out both the iaito and the uchigatana before committing chunks and a slab to either. Most people greatly prefer the uchi moveset.

If you want a ridiculously fast weapon you can try Ricard's Rapier, you get it in Sen's Fortress.

Can use any weapon if you just upgrade, though, so just try them out and check if you like the animations. Balder Side Sword is a really popular weapon.

Haha don't expect miracles, but it's a big improvement, imo. It's also faster to lock-on enemies thanks to the middle button.

The guys at From Software are probably still analyzing the chemical composition and behavior of that unknown lying object called "mouse" Razz

Yep, it seems a bit more precise indeed, but the damn mouse cursor is still there. Oh well, i can only dream about what could this game be with the Severance mouse control AND respective dismemberment system.. Cool

You can disable the mouse cursor by using the DSfix and setting the "disableCursor" parameter on 1 in the Dsfix.ini file Smile

What have you put your stat points into for the most part? Elemental is fine if you want to just pump vit and endurance. I got 40 dex, 40 end and 25 vit or so and it was fine through the first play through, had more than enough hp. With the Iaito +15, you will run through the game easily.

Anyone using Greatsword of Artorias? If so, how pleased are you and what stats your char has to make it worth it?

I just crafted it but I can't use it and won't use it yet, as I am at Abbot and Costello atm. Killing the fat guy in 6-7 swings due to

I have a strong feeling that almost everything in this game (item wise) CAN be good or very good, with proper equipment and stats. It's all choice. This game shines. Smile
