TRINE!
holy fuck. ive had that on steam for i dunno HOW long, and i was bored, and couldnt decide what game i felt like playing (pretty sure we've all had that kinda mood before), and i had trine installed (for some reason) but id never loaded it up... figured fuck it... id try it, hate it, and then could delete it.
but no!
i fucking love it! the game is so much fun!! what a brilliantly fun hidden gem. cant believe i almost never tried it.

I finished it again myself earlier today. I must say... while they did improve everything in the second game, the first one has a certain charm that's lost in the second. I can't put my finger on what that charm is, but it is, at least for me.

Just finished Mass Effect 1 and with Dawnguard and all, i'm in a new Skyrim playthrough. No major mods added, only some craftable equipment (Jaysus swords, Isilmeriel LOTR weapons, a few armors - nothing overpowered), the official hi-res textures and the ENB stuff.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War. I can't remember then the last time I've played RTS with base building, so I had to replay it.

since i dont have the money to afford the pleasure of listening to michael wincotts deep, grizzly epic death voice, and ive... kinda...gone 'off' piracy (when was the last time i pirated a game?!), ive decided to give crysis 2 another spin
sure, its no crysis, but its still a pretty lookin game, and the shooting mechanics are tuned nicely, so i can overlock the faults. its still a fun game.
still.
its no michael wincott

Just pirate the bloody game, you can always salve your conscience by buying it later when you do have the money.

After beating Sleeping Dogs I've been playing Arx Fatalis for the last few days. It's a nice RPG, one could say a poor man's Morrowind, mainly because of the graphics, but the gameplay is actually interesting with that spell system where you draw the spell on the screen real time to cast it, all this following the inscriptions on magic runes that you find as you progress. I find the story nice too for a change and very typical of a RPG.
The plan is to play Black Mesa after beating this, immediately followed by Dark Messiah (which I've never played) just before the release of Dishonored.
Multiplayer wise, I've been playing and enjoying PlanetSide 2 but also will be back to BF3 soon with the Armored Kill expansion about to be released.

As far as I see it, the TES games are the poor man's Arx Fatalis, not the other way around. Bethesda has got nothing on Arkane's brilliance.

Yeah that's why I mentioned the graphics, that's what I was referring to mostly, as I haven't played Morrowind yet but I've seen the quality of graphics it had for its time.

Well, Arx Fatalis is all underground so you don't get amazing vistas or whatever you would get in Morrowind, but the actual graphics are better in Arx Fatalis, at least in my opinion. Morrowind has the edge because it has modding I guess, but I don't count that. Also, be sure to install Arx Libertatis for Arx Fatalis. It's an open source patch or what to call it. It makes the game much more stable (although I think I've noticed the shadows being just blobs in that... not a big problem anyway).

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. That maybe I was biased about the graphics because of the modding? Maybe every video and screen I've seen of Morrowind was from an already heavily modded game.
Anyways, what I said doesn't mean I don't like Arx Fatalis's graphics. Even if technically dated by today standards, the graphic style is much better than many games we see today with their bloom and/or vaseline filter. I really like how the colours look in this game, very vibrant and not oversaturated either.

Hah, the memories..Morrowind and Arx Fatalis, two of my favorite games ever.
I'm currently playing a lot of action games these days: Sleeping Dogs, Darksiders 2, Prototype 2, I Am Alive and Arkham City (had to restart the old playthrough after I lost my savegames thanks to a kind virus). I find playing several games simultaneously more entertaining than dedicating all my time on a single game.

Recently was playing Payday and SS3, both great shooters. I just started playing GTA4 again. Tried before, never really liked anything about it aside from the physics engine. I hate it a bit less now, but it still puts me to sleep.
Tonight gonna start playing Dead Island. Never passed the game since I got bored of it after the first map. Got one coop partner already, but anyone is welcome to join if interested.

So far today I've installed and uninstalled: Alpha Polaris, Crysis 2, Max Payne 3, Alice: Madness Returns..
I'm in the mood where nothing I have feels interesting, I can't find anything to play and I'm bored out of my skull.
So I registered for 14 days of Eve Online.... Had to create a new account since I apparently had one from 2006 still registered.

started playing alan wake american nightmare. its a real pity that they didnt use this game to fix the flaws in alan wake, and the game is sadly very simplistic (NOT saying the original wasnt, but its more obvious now with the extra gameplay mechanic they added) and lacking a lot of the mood and awesomness of the original game...
still, i am enjoying it and ill have no problem finding the desire to finish it... and given that alan wake is like a 9/10 for me, american nightmare is still a pretty solid 7/10, so im not saying its terrible... just not nearly as good as AW
it is a nice little thematic divergence though, ill give it that... and it still looks damn pretty, even though the level design isnt a patch on the originals awesome visuals.
this game is TOTALLY making me want to replay the first game though... damn that was a great game. so far its definately my vote for 2012 pc GOTY

Been playing Payday every day with Shiv and Nerrd. When I'm not killing innocent folk with them it's a toss up between Path of Exile and TF2 Mann vs Machine and Krater.
