can anyone who played through both demon and dark souls tell me which game he thinks is better and why?

both are great games but i find dark souls better because everything is part of one world with alot of interconnections and shortcuts, great level design, while demons souls is split up into 5 areas with several chapters each.
demons souls may also a be a bit harder, but thats up to personal opinion.

Biggest difference for me was that Dark Souls had higher quality, is more polished.

Grass + magic systems make Demon's Souls easier. Of course, you don't have to (ab)use them.

Demons souls is a diamond in the ruff. Many things to like, but many things that annoyed the shit out of me. Like world/character tendency, inventory burden, nexus and more.

Overall dark souls is the better game. Bigger, more varied, cooler gear, etc.

Can wait to see whats goig to come next.

dark souls is almost perfect, demon souls is incredible but has some design flaws and also suffers from clunky combat etc

demon's souls is 9/10 experience for me

dark souls is a 10/10 experience for me

they're both absolutely amazing and must be played if you have access to them

Quite the other way around for me. Each world in Demon Souls was unique and equally polished while i feel half the areas in Dark Souls, mostly the ones towards the end of the game are rushed and badly designed. Anor Londo feels empty, Londo's Archives is too simple exploration-wise, Crystal Cave is dam ugly and so on.. I actually like the more complex areas like Blighttown. I'd give Demon Souls a 10/10 and Dark Souls a 8/10

20 flasks and a stack of humanity is no different than grass, and Dark Souls' magic system is far easier to cheese the game with than Demon's Souls was.

Demon's Souls was a much harder (and better) game overall.

its a warrior but i finished the game at level 100 with giants set+shield of artorias fully upgraded and claymore+5lightning; so i was cruisng trough ng+ without a problem, and decided to start a new game Very Happy

game is 15EUR at gamekeyz.net, get a key yo and lets do some arena battles, keep it below lvl 100 so you can play with people in the 50-100 level bracket

hmm why some summoning signs are white and some yellow? also sometimes (and i didnt do anything Razz), i get fog walls out of nowhere where i am that just disspear after 30-60 seconds

Meh, can't get a Silver Knight straight sword to drop. It's the only one missing from my collection; not that i'm gonna use it, but i'm such a hoarder...
Also, downloading the art book - huge (almost 2 GB) but awesome stuff.

It doesnt drop from respawnable knights, only from unique ones, like the one on top of the tower in undead burg or the one in undead asylum

Those are black knights. Silver knights only spawn in Anor Londo.

It dropped, finally from the respawnable knights in Anor Londo. I had to farm them for another half an hour though, with Gold Serpent ring and 99 humanity.

I found that straight sword pretty easily.. i think i got 2. The silver knight shield seems to be the best all around medium shield. Sturdy as a tank and not super heavy.

Question about ng+

Does souls gained from killing enemies scale with difficulty, so you can keep leveling easily?

Also with 40dex and +15 Iaito, will this be enough to deal damage in ng+?

Metro interviewed Miyazaki, and there was apparently a translation error that had him say he wanted to make an easy mode for the next game.

Fast forward and there was a bunch of people that think every game should be exactly the same in every way defending this.

And just now an update on the interview saying it was a mistranslation Laughing

Enemies hit harder, can take more damage, and are harder to kill. Even small enemies can put out a lot of damage, but they also give more souls (varies between 2x-5x as many);

Yeah I tend to kill them myself and she was quite weak compared to the other shroom dudes - http://danbooru.donmai.us/post/show/1131957/1boy-armor-arrow-bad_id-dark_souls-full_armor-gaun - you do get (If I remember.) one of those mushroom bits (For healing.) from doing it but there are far better rewards for killing other NPC in this particular area of the game. Smile
(Although be sure you have no more need of their services in the current game if you decide to do this, some of them sell useful items or provide interesting info and other forms of aid.)
