You do realise you're completely contradicting yourself here right? The third one had lost almost all of the Broken Sword charm.

I would probably like it a lot more if it wasn't in 3d. The story was ok, nothing special, still nothing really worse than in the first two games. I'm not the biggest fan of their storytelling anyway, but man how I love the animations and art of the first two. They completely nailed it. I'm a bit of a whore for hand drawn animation and those two games are right there among the best of them.

I'll be playing them all again soon, starting with number 1 on the Nexus 7 when it arrives. Number 2 going to Android soon too I think.
I'm glad it's gone back to 2D - it was the smart move. Have replayed 1 and 2 a lot, can't remember 3 & 4 that much, so be interesting to see what I make of them when I replay them...

It seems they actually did reach the next stretch goal of 650k. The main kickstarter page doesn't show it, but apparently they have PayPal pledges listed separately, and total is now over 660k.

http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DDB-BSC/broken-sword-complete-bundle
A bundle was released which contains the four games released so far with the first two games now in remastered versions.
(I believe the remastered version of the first game was released separately already but I don't know if they did that with the second game.)

Well, GOG also has all the Broken Sword games (remastered versions included) and you can grab them in their sales week-ends.
Also, Beneath a Steel Sky 2 will be also developed, as there is quite a bit of interest (despite the fact that Broken Sword didn't reach the goal that would unlock the development of BTSS2).
Who knows, maybe BTTS 2 will go for Kickstarter on its own to get the needed money.

Here are the links. 28$ if you buy them now, but there are week-ends when can get them at half price or even with 75% discount.
And the gamersgate bundle does not contains the original Broken Sword 1+2. It has only the remastered editions, from what i understand.

Yaaay! Even though it looks more like Runaway not Broken Sword it's the humour (and writing in general) that count the most.

Yep
In before cash grab whining: backers get both episodes and you could've backed for just $15. They say each episode is also a full game in its own right, obviously remains to be seen whether that's a really true
