I was shocked to see Saturday Morning RPG get listed, I had no idea the devs had any intention of bringing it to the PC -- I'd snap that up in an instant! Love the iPad version, the gameplay and humour is great ... it's 80s toons all over again and they even managed to get Vince DiCola to score it!!! Shocked

Valve really needs to add an option to filter out titles you've already rated/etc, since browsing that collection is going to be a NIGHTMARE once it starts getting more popular. 3 pages of games earlier... now, 2 hours later, SEVEN pages of games.

Urgh Sad So I wake up this morning and "There was a problem with your Steam installation. Please reinstall Steam" --- the fuck?? I try running the installer and "repair" option, which claims to have worked fine, then it fails and gives the same error message.

I just blanked it and now let's see if it works after a full reinstall. Sigh.

~edit~

Working now. I had to move out my steamapps and userdata folders, then reinstall Steam and put them back, now it's all fine. What the hell caused this random nonsense? I don't *think* I have that shit that affected toni and ixi, all my programs still work.. AV is still active, WU works, firewall is running ... disabling none of the usual apps. Bizarre.

~edit~

Oooh, seems a bunch of my games need to be "converted to a more efficient format" with some Content Conversion thingy.

I had the exact same thing a week ago. And it sucks because you have to go through each game, click play, then let it download its stuff before you can move on to the next one.

Im getting sick of that new content format bullshit. Everytime I go to play a game I haven't for a while I have to sit here and wait for the bullshit to download. It's really starting to piss me the fuck off.

Do you keep your games on a zip disk or something? Conversion doesn't take very long.

No, but it's the fact that you have to do each game one at a time and Steam in inoperable while you're doing each one that is a pain. That, and it looks annoying having a bunch of your games in your library saying "Updating" or whatever.

This is hands-down the best movie made in SFM. No contest, nothing comes remotely close to it.

... whoa! ... I certainly agree with the comments; "SFM Level: Valve" Very Happy Thanks Neon, that was magnificent! I can't even begin to imagine the time and effort it must have taken to create that.

Valve Confirms Hardware Development

“We’re frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space, so we’re jumping in.”
Quote:
A job listing on Valve’s site confirms that the company will begin developing hardware. A listing for an industrial designer says “Valve is traditionally a software company. Open platforms like the PC and Mac are important to us, as they enable us and our partners to have a robust and direct relationship with customers. We’re frustrated by the lack of innovation in the computer hardware space though, so we’re jumping in.”

The post continues, adding that Valve is interested in creating new user experiences. “Even basic input, the keyboard and mouse, haven’t really changed in any meaningful way over the years,” it says. “There’s a real void in the marketplace, and opportunities to create compelling user experiences are being overlooked.”

i swear i wrote something last night.

anyway, the kid shouldn't be looking for a job as an animator, but as a director. he did a real swell job. could easily get hired at valve for being able to do something like this.

Nice. You look at what Nintendo have done in the realm of console user input devices, and then you look at the PC industry, and you can see there's room for improvements and new ideas.
