Well, there have been rumours going around ALOT that kotor 3 is gonna be made and it is not gonna be made and stuff, even thou bioware don't wanna do the third because they are working on mass effect there is obsidian that is announced that they wanna make kotor 3 if lucasarts give them the permission. I was wondering if there is any more rumours aswell as we can chat here a bit of what we wanna expect from the third game aswell as the storyline.

If they were planning to develop for DX10, they would have started already.

Unfortunately I never tried the first game, I only played the second, but standing by itself I thought it was pretty darn good, one of the better RPGs of late if you like something easily accessible and fun but with at least a little depth.
Gotta agree with the above. Successful franchise based on a successful franchise, theres gotta be a 3rd in the current sequel mad world.

Kotor I was brilliant, Kotor II was a bit disappointing in my opinion. The people that played the first part and liked it should agree with me. Kotor II was ok though. I am hoping they'll do a third part, I like the franchise.... also hope they revamp the combat system.

I also think graphically part1 looks better and the worlds look better as well, they look populated and colorfull, while all planets in Kotor2 look bland and dead.

What i like about kotor2 was that there were more planets and stuff aswell and more content in each planet.

both games are great imho, though I can't see why the first one was so much better for you guys...
So what was it the first one was better at, or was part 2 just a bit disapointing after such a great part 1?
Oh and I voted for yes since I just hope they make a third one.^^

*cough* kotor2 was made by obsidian *cough*
Yeah kotor1 was nice, so is kotor2 if you use the mod which adds the missing parts. Even though that mod isnt quite finished yet... but still pretty good
IMO any BioWare RPG is good, so is any D20 RPG (which uses Wizards of the Coast rulesets).

I agree. Kotor was a masterpiece, the 2nd game however was really buggy and there were holes in the plot (the overall story wasn't really good)... but it was OK.

Very unlikely, and there's really not much point anymore since we know what's gonna happen. I guess it would be nice if it would focus a bit on the rest of the crew or somewhere further down the line with the rebuilding of the Jedi order/rise of the Sith.
I guess it's fun to speculate.

That's okay, I'll just take this opportunity to remind you of the proper Syndicate remake that never was

All my hope of a proper KOTOR-sequel was squashed when I realized how much they ruined the entire series with the WOW-clone shit that is TOR.
Yes, yes I'm back.
Somewhat.

Yeah but that was BioWhore and they've proven lately that they just don't give a shit about their games any more. I have a little bit more faith in Obs right now because as technically flawed as their games may be, you can always feel the creativity and love behind them.

Or a job that will be undertaken but never finished, leaving the fans and modders to fix what's left, heh |

Exactly . It's more than fine if you ask me: give us the rough diamond and the community will turn it into an amazing jewel.
Such a thing can't happen with any of the recent Bioware games since you can't polish a turd
