There is a last minute change to this year’s International. MUFC ran into issues that prevented their entire team roster from making it to Seattle and will unable to compete.

The two backup teams, Mousesports and World Elite, will play tonight in a best of five series for the last spot. The game will be broadcast inside the Dota 2 client and commentated by Purge and Godz.

We are estimating the games to start at 5:00PM PST, check back for more then.

So TI2 starts in 2.5 hours!

Too bad for MUFC. Don't see Mouz having any chance at winning TI2 if they beat WE.

If they get through 1 LB match I would be surprised. Worst team there if they get in and they are even playing with kuroky instead of CWM

WE are bad and the Tidehunter was why they dominated. Pretty decent pudge, though. He wasnt anything special in game 1 and 2, imo.

Kuroky was pretty legendary once but I dont think hes so special anymore

Edit: What is it called when Tidehunter gets 4 kills in a matter of seconds?

I can't be the only one who's really dissapointed with Dota2? HoN feels a lot more fluid and responsive?

Animations and turn-rates.

Just compare Torturer from before and Torturer now. They remove/speed up so they're not even noticeable pretty much all animations in HoN. It doesn't have any real turn-rates like Dota does either(which have gameplay implications obviously, can't just instantly cast behind you, and Batrider exists).

This argument is so old and has been discussed so many times it's irritating. HoN is just faster-paced and almost every spell got no casting time/animation + the heroes' turn rate is inexistant in HoN, that's the only reason you think it's more "fluid and responsive".

If you wanna read on the subject and get a sort of fix for the input delay ( which is about the same as WC3's ): http://dev.dota2.com/showthread.php?t=7036&page=12&p=43861&viewfull=1#post43861
Nobody talks about that anymore really, expect for 4 people on the dev forums, you just get used to it.

Loda got that insider info, man. Laughing

Seriously, though, both games could've easily gone to CLG. Not like other teams that have been getting stomped by the Asian/Chinese teams.

Well tbh, they're prolly not concerned about advertising Valve as much as the Dota 2 logo / name. If you're already playing the game i would assume you know who made the game (not direct at you Razz, just speaking in a general sense) coz of the start up screens and obviously Steam. If you don't, you are probably going to try to get an early access invite because of the Dota name, not because Valve made it.

Oh yeah? Try looking at Blizzard tournaments or LoL tournaments? Ads plastering their brandnames everywhere all the time. You saw ONE logo at all times during this tournament and it was the Dota2 logo.

And they werent concerned with it, that was my point. They are trying to promote esports and the people responsible for making dota2 a part of it Smile

Here is the interview. Live on Three is a pretty good show: http://da.twitch.tv/onemoregametv/b/331199144?t=28m00s

ChrisC wrote:
Update Notes - September 12, 2012
- Made significant performance improvements to model loading and rendering.
- Added iG to the Hall of Fame.

GAMEPLAY
- Fixed a bug where a Blink Dagger could be used post-stun even if it should have been disabled due to damage.

UI
- Settings dialog sliders no longer go to 11.
- The loadout screen now shows how many items you have for each slot (so you don't have to page in and out of each slot to find items).
- The Gold and XP graphs will now update immediately when a broadcaster opens them.
- The Shop combine tree is now animated.
- The center item in the combine tree now shows purchasable border.
- The buyback indicator in top bar displays for 10 seconds.
- Pinging dropped items now prints the item to team chat, similar to rune pinging.

VISUALS
- Beefed up Lifestealer's Open Wounds debuff effect.
- Beefed up Luna's Lucent Beam impact a tiny bit.
- Made some visual tweaks to Keeper's Illuminate projectile so it behaves better when moving across different altitudes.
- Slightly enlarged accuracy debuff effect for Keeper's Blinding Light.

SOUND
- Added new lines to several heroes.

BOTS
- Added Dragon Knight bot.
- Added Skeleton King bot.
- Fixed invisible bots getting stuck trying to place wards.
- Fixed Earthshaker not considering using Enchant Totem to interrupt channels.
- Juggernaut will no longer try to attack when using Blade Fury, he'll just move to his desired location.
- Lina should now use Laguna Blade more appropriately (less killstealing of low-health enemies).
- Bots should now be less likely to bail on a neutral farming target that has a tiny amount of health left.
- Fixed bug that caused bots to select the wrong item to drop.
- Fixed bots always assuming that humans were pushing a tower (rather than farming it) if they were in-lane late-game.
- Fixed bug that was causing too much avoidance from Radiance.
- Fixed bug where Lina wouldn't use Dragon Slave when pushing or defending a lane.
- Fixed towers still causing avoidance for a few seconds after they've been destroyed.
- Bots now better estimate how powerful they are relative to the enemy team.

Cleaned up grammar in Homing Missile description.
