Let's go over this in more detail then, first press [End] to show the menu, then press [Del] to unequip a item slot, when viewing a item in more detail press [Del] again to scroll through it's three properties windows.
First is a general stats, then is a more detailed stats breaking down attack and defense into separate categories and numerous other statistics, these are very important.
Lastly is a small description of the item.
If you view the stats for the item here it should view 48 in red for strength, this means you need 48 strength to wield it efficiently in one hand, I believe you need 24 if used in two-hands but it could be 2/3 or such instead of 1/2 requirements.
(That thing has one of the highest requirements in the game but it's also amongst the stronger items you will ever find - maybe minus this new content - especially when upgraded.)
Above 50 for a stat will see a large increase in needed souls and a less effect when upgraded, max is 99 for each stat with a total level being between 709 and 711 depending on starting class but this requires several playthroughs to achieve and normally isn't really worth doing.
(I'm going primarily for strength and vitality so I've reached pretty good values in each but I'm also leveling endurance and dexterity at the side for stamina and other bonuses, stats alone will mean little without proper equipment though, you will still die easily to many enemies.)

I'm just using 1920x1080 which is native for me. Go much higher if your computer can handle it.

I'm using 1.5x of my native resolution for both width and height. It's very good for Supersampling. So for 1600x900 it's like this:
Spoiler: | Code: | # internal rendering resolution of the game
renderWidth 2400
renderHeight 1350
# texture filtering override
# 0 = no change, 1 = enable supersampling by downscaling, 2 = full AF override (may degrade performance)
filteringOverride 1
# Log level - 0 to 11, higher numbers mean more logging. Only enable for debugging
logLevel 0
###############################################################
# The settings below are not yet ready to use! #
###############################################################
# You can only set either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed (or neither)
# 0 = off, 1 = on
forceWindowed 0
forceFullscreen 0
# The following settings are only functional if either forceFullscreen or forceWindowed is enabled
# The display width/height
presentWidth 1280
presentHeight 720
# turn on/off Vsync
enableVsync 0
# adjust display refresh rate in fullscreen mode - this is NOT linked to FPS!
fullscreenHz 60 |
|
For 1920x1080 you can try:
renderWidth 2880
renderHeight 1620

What is the highest render i can go with my cards you guys think?
Now my usage is around 30% and 25% on the cards with 1080p render and res and the 16xAF

I would start with:
renderWidth 3840
renderHeight 2160
filteringOverride 1
If it works, you can try increasing filteringOverride to 2.

Can't believe people play/praise this game. I gave it a few hours, but it's just too amateurish to warrant any more time.
-Menus, sub-menus, tiny menus within the sub-menus. It's basically a trash interface reminiscent of N64 RPG's that has no business being in any title post 2000.
-Difficult not due to the actual mechanics, but the sluggish controls and inconsistent animations/hit-boxes/blocking.
-Translation seems to be done by a Japanese child in middle school learning English. Here's the actual text for the effects of the Divine Blessing Potion - "Fully restore HP and undo irregularities . Hmm, so I take this instead of a stool softener huh?
To each his own I guess, but it's simply masochist due to the amateurish design choices and execution rather than any actual difficulty outright.
It's like they were saying - We're hardcore because we don't give you a map, use stat descriptions that we came up with using Google Translate, don't give you any sort of direction, and have you die due to inconsistent hit boxes. Nope, not hardcore, just amateurish.
I can never be free, because the shackles I wear can't be touched or be seen.

thanx got it
so that mace is pretty useless at the begining because of that high strength requirements
saw written someplace that if you get that mace you will have little problems in the begining of the game; but since you need a shitload of souls to reach 48 strength to equip it properly, its kinda meh

^that's all correct, but when it comes to exploration and that awesome feeling after finally beating a tough area there are few modern games that come close
head hurts after playing all day tho, dunno if its the shit fov/low fps or just too much

In what way is blocking inconsistent?
If you don't have stamina, you don't block.
If an enemy does a shit ton of damage, you won't block all of the damage unless you have a good enough shield(Higher stability = more damage blocked).
I'm only asking because I'm playing a heavy armor/shield character, and I've never had any problems with it.

Meeeeeh... I'll try playing later without the fix.
Or using the fix and my native res instead of 1920x1080 but so far the fps drops completely do away with any fun I might have.
Tried the Adventurer class (the one with the scimitar) and it's much more satisfying to play with than the warrior/knight ones.
The thing is, just like in The Witcher 2 the best way to take advantage of a fighting system like this is not to use any target locking.
The problem with that is that while playing like that the hitboxes seem to be a bit glitchy to say the least
So I'll probably end up shelving it for now.

After ~3 hours of play I can definitely agree with the 99% of Immunity's post, though I'd really like to try the game with proper mouse controls before saying the final word. I'm putting the game on hold for the moment, crossing my fingers for some good news

extremely useful tactic later on in the game when fighting heavily armored enemies. | I think I took out 1/4 of the asylum demon doing just that without target locking.
Turning it on actually hurt my character's overall mobility when dodging around him.
