How did you get FXAA working? I've tried forcing it through the Nvidia control panel and Nvidia Inspector, but neither are working for me.

-edit- Now it's working for some reason.

Just so no one gets too excited: the distant LOD effect appears to run using a 1024*720p framebuffer, or so I would assume. Backgrounds look very pixelated.

I think they're running at 512*360 actually. I can probably fix that.

(I can't sleep, too excited. But I also can't do any useful coding at this point - sucks!)

I tried to run the game at 4096 x 2305.

GPU almost died from massive awesomeness. I'll stick with 1600p Smile

Just use higher than native res with the fix.

5120x3200 down to 1600p:

Yeah a offline profile should be all that's needed since it's more or less unprotected outside of LIVE and that ZDP thing.

Just unlocked and, as said, there's no protection and you can play with an offline profile Very Happy I also tried the DSfix with 1920x1080 render and it looks so much better.... but epic 50% framerate drop when there's smoke onscreen, like when you traverse doorways or light a bonfire or beat a boss. Framerate drops from 30 to 15. Seems fine all other times though.

No protection on this game whatsoever? So Skidrow, or someone else, just needs create an installer, put it in .iso format and upload it?

Pretty much yeah. There's ZDP encryption on the DATA.EXE and fmodex.dll/fmodex_event.dll, but they get decrypted as soon the release date check is passed. No other protection.

The game indeed slow downs when there are some heavy shader effects. Pretty weird.

If anyone wants to play this game with a M&K and hates how "jittery" the controls feel... if you buy an XIM Edge ($89) and connect it between your mouse and PC it completely fixes mouselook.

Here is my setup:

PC <- XIM Edge Port 1 <- 360 Pad (required for XIM security)
PC <- XIM Edge Port 2 <- Mouse
PC <- XIM Edge Port 3 <- NA
PC <- Keyboard

I know it's a wild setup but it does give you nearly perfect mouse controls in game. So there you have it. Dark Souls PC with with internal HD resolution and functional M&K support.

Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

Exactly the same for me. Now it looks 2008 rather than 2003 (with the 'fix')

But to all those people who are buying it because of that fix, arent u A) rewarding them even though they did a terrible port and B) ignoring the person who actually put in the work to make it more palatable

@Ocho

Weird, I restarted the game and this time no slowdown during smoke effects Neutral

@Tungsten

Aye, to anyone buying the game now.. I'd say Durante deserves a slice of that, since he's the one that fixed what was broken Smile

@Ashok0

Now THAT is fuckin' funny!! Using an m/k adaptor for the PS360 on the PC in order to enable decent mouse look grinhurt

I'm donating some bucks to Durante, he really deserves it.

@Sabin

I know! It's all random and stuff. Sometimes with blood effects the game gets all crazy and stuff.

hahaha, res cap fix by Durante and mouse control ghetto fix by Ashok0.
From, it seems your game is getting more playable by the hour, whether you like it or not Laughing

btw, ati user and no slowdown whatsoever, running @ constant 30 fps in my native res with Durante´s fix, got past the asylum demon so far.
now, with supersampling it comes to a crawl, but i dont need it.

No framerate drop here, using game resolution 1920x1080 (Highest possible, still windowed) and that fix at a resolution of 2560x1440 (16:9) which achieves a form of downsampling effect.
