My friends laptop running Windows7 Home was fudged, he tried to sort it himself and made it even worse formatting his hidden restore partition etc

Anyway, I grabbed a legal untouched ISO of Windows7 Home and reinstalled it.

During setup it asked for the Key so I used the one supplied with his laptop and all was going well.

I download all the updates and MS Security Essentials and it recognises his install as legal and all is good.

2 Days later the Icon in the bottom corner has popped up saying it needs Activated but it wont activate with his Dell key on the bottom of his laptop.

What options is there? Or should I just use DazLoader or what ever its called?

Ive told him to try that but for some reason the windows activation menu crashes when he presses that.. I will have a look tomorrow and see whats what, alot easier when you physically have a look at things yourself than trying to guide someone on a phone lol..

Just download "vista7 slic ldr 2.4.9" it will detect the slic2.1 activation token in the bios and activate windows, no serial needed. I will be a legal activation as it's the same method Dell uses for bulk activation.

i7 3770k, GTX980, 16GB Ram, SSD Raid0, Internet 3rd world shit not worth mentioning

well, he managed to get a virus or something as the damn laptop wouldnt even turn on lol... Had to use recover disk options. Full of corrupt files that diskcheck removed etc.

Finally got it on and every activation error had a ERROR code. Couldnt even install software. Did virus scans and malware etc scans and nothng major came up.... Did windows updates and after the restart it was sorted but still had to modifiy a Registery entry to get programs to install.

I just clicked Enter new key on the activation screen and it worked so I fired his key back into it and waited about 1 min and then it popped up saying Activated.

Right clicked mycomputer and properties and it says Windows is Activated with that Genuine logo to the right or what ever it is


Dont know how someone gets a virus after 3 days of getting a clean fresh install with all the updates done and firewall and MSE running.... What it is is he is addicted to Porn I think, I gave him 2 sites to use that are virus free and to use if he has to, I do a spyware scan and theres all kinds of porn site tracking cookies etc in his system lol, he only had it back for a few days!! lol (I used a usb mouse and keyboard to keep my hands clean lol)

He said he got carried away clicking... a banner on the side or a logo so he clicked it, then a popup appeared so he clicked it, then he clicked on the banner etc within that popup etc etc... It was just a one way ticket to virus hell anyway...

the smell of Johnson Baby Lotion made me get the USB mouse and Keyboard out.... I had to wash my hands everytime I touched it lol
