It looks like a PS2 game. Try injecting SMAA or something like that to remove the vaseline filter. However, I'll still play it

Got it working, you don't just patch away the offset for the launcher but also a certain FMOD setting, now it no longer crashes. Smile

As for the proof that it works, you can do it yourself:

1) Download Renegade Ops from somewhere, copy fmodex.dll and fmod_event.dll from it to the Dark Souls directory (Renegade Ops has a compatible version of FMOD that Dark Souls can use).
2) Open DATA.exe in a hex editor and modify offset 0xb99e20 to 33 C0 C3.
3)To "fix" the crash (by forcing FMOD to allocate its own memory), open DATA.exe and patch the bytes at 0x2e8c8e to 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90 90. That's 25 bytes.
4)Run DATA.exe to play

Yes. The bigger the monitor, the worse it will look, so in a few years this will be unplayable with locked frame buffer if you value your eyes.

Sound works, saving doesn't since LIVE is disabled from altering DATA.exe also the game can at times manage to look OK if you just use a low resolution like 800x450 ha ha. Very Happy



(Actually up to 1280x720 it looks OK, after that there's that scaling shit.)
