imo Pc gaming magazines like Pc Gamers and sites on the net that review games and interview publisher and developers have to be much more aggressive and question them properly. Basically putting them on the spot and holding them accountable for previous games releases and statements in their reviews of games.
Instead it feels like every game that has a big publisher behind it, gets favorable reviews.

Based on a Pachter statement soooooo I'm a bit weary of putting this here, but anyway:
http://www.pcgamer.com/2011/10/07/opinion-ubisoft-piracy-and-the-death-of-reason/
So ubishit discovers a 95% piracy rate the week after having an assumed 90% drop on their PC sales... hmmmzzz

Ya gotta larf about it. It reminds me of sometime last century when I used to work for other people n I got a gig in the secretariat (the area that liases between the boss of a government department and the Minister of that department).
Everyone was in complete fantasy land. About three months before the government released its budget the Treasury would give us a mob of 'projections' which determined what was going to happen economically over the next 12 months in this particular nation state. We would take those figures and use them to determine business levels for the organisation based upon what Treasury wrote. Budget staff levels everything was based upon those projections.
Everything goes off to the minister and backwards & forwards tween minister n organisation until the budget is announced. After that the figures n associated flows were regarded as being set in stone. The department would continue to act as though everything was proceeding exactly according to plan, especially when it quite patently was not, cause Treasury had fucked up big time sussing out their projections.
Then nine months into the 'year' treasury drop by with next years figures n the whole process would begin again. Crazy cause I agree there has to be some formal process but what used to get me was the refusal by anyone least of all treasury to reality check, that is compare what they said would happen to what actually had happened.
Avoided at all costs - absolute madness because it meant that no one was ever held accountable for their mistakes. It looks as though corporations pull exactly the same stunt to protect themselves from their shareholders.

Every week a Ubisoft game is delayed on PC, causes 15% of piracy.

PC Gamers dropped UBIsoft after they dropped us for boycotting them when they started using StarForce and Splinter Cell Chaos Theory sold like shit on PC. After that the last straw was Silent Hunter 5, there were game breaking bugs, an all to common but that caused the game to bug out not being able to finish the game. Instead of fixing it, UBI posted a poll saying that unless they get a required amount of votes that they weren't going to bother wasting their time fixing it.
Sorry UBIsoft. You can't stop fucking up. I don't even pirate their games because everything they have created after Chaos Theory has been complete trash. EVERYTHING

Not only that, but you can't say that the first Assasin's Creed was complete trash. Regardless of what you think happened (happens?) to the series now, the first one was an excellent action/adventure game with some of the quirks that they got rid of in AC2. I still remember my jaw hitting the floor every time I climbed something in AC.

Aside from AC and some very rare exceptions (Rayman), the nextgen Ubisoft has been a complete disaster.
They completely destroyed the Ghost Recon Franchise, Splinter Cell, Silent Hunter, Call of Juarez and Brothers in Arms and also streamlined Rainbow Six and PoP. They're like the Nazis of gaming.
Maybe the future will be better with Far Cry 3 and Watch Dogs, but still, the damage is already done.
And I didn't even mention the always-online spyware-friendly Orwellian UbiDRM.

AC1 was just as crap as the rest of their failed attempts at making a game. Constant throwing you around in the story back and forth from past and future, the one button does all combat. It was monotonous and repetitive within the first 10 minutes of the game. I had fun hopping from roof to roof the first time I did it until that became all the game was about. It was just a dumbed down prince of persia platformer

Maybe I spoke wrongly but here in the states it sold like crap until it hit steam. When it was released here it was plagued with Starforce which resulted in it's boycott and ended up refund crazy.
