Yeah well, if I had the money I'd get one.

I'll be lucky if I can afford an i3.

Even an i3 is a substantial upgrade over the E8400 at this point in time.

I was checking out some cpu comparisons, I get the impression that a i3 2120 is about a 35% overall system increase over a e8600.

I just worry the onboard cache (3mb) is quite low compared to the e8600 (6mb). But, financially I could possibly update the whole platform to get the i3...

I only just bought this lot too! Laughing

Oh yeah, I knew I had a game related question to ask Razz

I've used the crack + 1.4 patch - but ingame it still says 1.3.

Did I do wrong? Razz

Max Payne 3 ran nicely, that was a pleasant surprise.

wouldn't mind if i was grabbing a warez version, but as I'm going to buy it, would be a bit disapointed if i wasn't able to run the game properly : )

None of these hardwares are not old like 4-5 years. Are you coming from future?

Q8300 @ 3.3Ghz, 4GB, HD6850.

Running it at 1440x900, motion blur and SSAO off, world distance high, medium AA, HD pack on, normal shadow resolution and filtering and v-sync off.
Only tried the benchmark so far, but I get a minimum of 37-38 fps on the rainy night scene.

Absolute minimum is 29 fps, but that's right at the apertment at the end and that last part doesn,'t really make sense so... Razz

I've been having issues actually acquiring the non-legit version of this (odd thing to say I know) but if I took my legit install directory and used the 1.4 crack, should/could that work? Or does it NEED to install? Anyone know?

Whats wrong with buying the Game?

Did you look at what the DLC's offer so far? XP/Cash/fancy suit & car that is obtainable in the regular game/envelopes with Cash to collect.Nothing you really "need" & are forced to spend money on to have fun.

Q9450 4GB DDR2 and a GTX 470 here. All on stock speeds.

Average FPS 50,8 // max 74,8 // min 31,5
1680x1050

AA normal // high-res on // shadow res normal // filtering normal // ssao normal // v-sync on // motion blur normal // world density extreme // fps limiter off
(if the options stuck, you never know..)

I do notice some slowdowns every now and then, but only minor and I'm not bothered by it. Granted, I've not been around the entire island yet, so I may run into some more demanding areas, but as long as I don't touch that AA setting, its all good so far.

i grabbed Sleeping_Dogs_Limited_Edition_CRACKED-P2P and "Sleeping Dogs Limited Edition (Update 1 4 and Cracked)" which was 1.8 gigs. the game, update and crack are just folders/files. there is no installers/installation. i would guess that if you applied the update and crack to any instal directory for the game (legit or not) that it would make it work, but thats just a guess (best to make a backup first).

Been playing for about an hour and i love it so far. Great setting and atmosphere. Melee combat is also decent , remember me a bit of Assassin Creed. RPG elements and character customization is also neat.

Playing on 1.3 for now but will try to get 1.4 working since i want to see high res textures and be able to change my graphics settings ect. Wouldnt even need that since its perfectly fine right now but i want to see it in all tis glory Very Happy

Just edit the DisplaySettings.xml file and set the options that way. Quite a few of us still can't set them in-game, so edit them instead.

Thanks man. It does seem to work

Im also surprised and how well it runs after reading people saying they had shit performence. And that even with AA set to 2 and SSAO and High res textures on. I use AA=1 instead though since its the best visual/performence ratio. I think the 2 gigs on my 6950 may help a bit there.

Now i wont be surprised if i do encounter slowdowns later on since im only at the beginning but so far so good Smile

The only performance issues you may encounter will be from daytime, since dynamic shadows only seem to be in effect during the day, even then if you lose any performance it'll be barely noticeable Smile The game looks great, feels great, plays great and runs great Very Happy

Yeah but GTA4 didn't really have a strong story. You didn't feel connected to the characters. Sad 3 and VC yes. but SA and 4 weren't strong on the story. I hope 5 will have a good story.
