We will be conducting a stress test tomorrow Wednesday, August 15 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.
And i bought mine from GreenManGaming with this code: PCGMR-ALLIN-GREEN
Don't know if its still valid. And the NA version seems to not have headstart included anymore. Only the EU version.
But with that -25%, i paid around 42€ for it. That's the cheapest i saw it for a 100% legal key.
There is a new large patch.
Have been playing WvW last few stress tests. And here I must say that p2w seems real. You need a lot of cash for buying the blueprints for siege weapons (I assume those blueprints have only one usage?), much easier to make that with selling gems.

I disagree.
Firstly, as you complete events (which is pretty much everything in WvW) you get rewarded with, among other things, in-game gold. These rewards scale to your level. As you get closer to 80, you should get enough gold to buy any blueprint very quickly. So, I see your argument valid for starting characters, but as you level up, that advantage practically disappear.
Secondly, it comes to what other people categorize as P2W. I mean with some exception, you need 9 other players to actually build the siege golem (most expensive blueprint). Without them that blueprint is useless. Ideally you'd gather enough gold from rest of the players to purchase that blueprint.
And last, but not least you are also able to purchase those blueprints with Badge of Honor, which you can get for killing players in WvW. Also, blueprints can be found as drops from other players, guards and dolyaks.
I guess the amount of supplies also limits the amount of blueprints that can be used.
I don't think there's any limit to how many siege weapons servers can build at any time. If the server own a nearby supply camp and protect supply caravans to their destination there will be a constant influx of new supplies. That doesn't mean it would be a good idea to build a hundred of siege equipment. Upgrading currently owned locations will play a very important role as well. Some upgrades can be quite expensive, for instance, an upgrade which adds a waypoint to currently owned keep cost like 30silver, 750 supplies and 500 karma. Defending upgraded keeps will be really important, as losing fully upgraded keeps will cost a shitload of supplies, gold and karma, not to mention time it takes for upgrade to finish. So that if enemy will capture it it will no doubt deal a heavy blow for a server that lost it. It will make up for some epic battles though.
Anyway I will start doing PvE, when done with that or a bit bored I will try WvW. Still need to find a guild though. Guilds will have to be big and use teamspeak or ventrilo to coordinate WvW really well. During last stress test I was part of an endless battle. We got killed, respawned and went back then we got them killed, we acquired some keep, they respawned and came back. We got killed, they took the keep, etc.
Edit: Btw as you said it, if one server really dominates the other 2 have to use guerilla warfare to limit the influx of supplies. The maps are so big though, I really wonder if servers will be able to set up a server wide communication to regulate offence and defence. What I have seen so far were mainly zerg fests.
None of those got me hooked, I want me GW2 now!
I became a MMO player because I liked to be involved with a game for a prolonged time instead of playing a game every other week.
Things like this one are exactly what's been missing from all the MMOs that came after WoW. It's these random interactions , which you might never even come across on one character, that make the world feel alive.

I played the beta early on and was a little dissapointed with the pace of the game but i probably didn't let myself 'get into' it enough. I plan to give it a good shot this time as the idea of any MMO with decent PVP does inspire me.
Can anyone recommend a good site with guides / tutorials to start out and specifically what builds are effective for what reasons? Thanks
