The world wasn't ready. Give it another 10 years and there will be a much bigger push for this kind of service.

I like OnLive. It's easy to play test a game without having to install it. Sad

They advertise 720p as maximum resolution if you have a 5Mbit or faster connection. Let's face it, it's a low res when it comes to PC gaming standards of today. I guess that service might interest people with 7 year old PCs, but let's be honest here, you don't need a high end PC to play any new games at low res of 1280x720. I remember my 8800GT was able to run Crysis with ultra high config at that res at 30+FPS.

Where there actually any new games on Onlive recently?

Last time I checked there where stagnating and having barely any new game releases in last 2 years.

I was really expecting them just to pull a plug, because why would anyone subscribe just to play more then 2 year older games that where released before service started degrading due to layoff and who knows what.

To be honest, OnLive always struck me as a failed idea from the start - it's interesting tech, but at the end of the day they're selling/renting PC games to PC gamers. They can't pull the "you can play games via OnLive that your PC couldn't usually handle" because let's face it, OnLive's video quality left a great deal to the imagination :\ What they need to do is market OnLive to console gamers, those without PCs, who would not usually be able to play PC titles. The same with Sony and their recent Gakai stuff, streaming PS1/PS2/PS3 titles to PSV/PS4. Now THAT's something worth doing and if Sony put out their Gakai service for PC gamers too? That would be great.

After 5 years not much happened and most likely nothing will. Couldn't care less about mobile devices.

Only thing I'd be interested in is playing console games like that on my pc (lazy way instead of emulators or getting a console) and like Sabin said bringing pc games to the console crowd.
