Aye, Moonstone was pretty basic. Single fire-button, 8-direction attacks, a rudimentary shop and equipment component, a small world to "explore" and brutal violence -- but it was the way the whole package came together that made it so magnificent. Playing it MP was every bit as fun as playing it SP .. and that's a rare thing for games.

They would be foolish, if they try to attempt it. I think this won't be a flight or a combat simulator. It's more a 3rd person dogfight game.

Wonder if this game ever will be relased, not a worth of it since this....would be a damn shame to not release such a classic and excellent game.... Smile

Looks disappointing to be honest. Graphics are not very good at all, and the green icon over the enemy planes is dumbing down the original version.

The original game had no hud or any such thing; the pilot would turn his head towards the enemy, and by the amount of bullet holes in the plane you knew how much 'health' you had left.

There must have been a door there in the wall, when I came in.
Truly gone fishing.

Wings Remastered is available on the backer page for Kickstarter funders or Steam (unlocks in 6 days). For those of you who want to see what the original Wings is like on the Amiga, a PC portable edition is available , although it will be removed if the Wings original goes up for sale on GOG

Loved the original as a kid, I was glad I played it then, because it plain sucks to play now.

I lasted a lot longer with the Defender of the crown remake some years back.

Need an amiga nostalgia fix? Go for Moonstone - always.

There are two kinds of people I can't stand in this world. People who are intolerant of other people's cultures, and the Dutch.

this remastered version is waaaay too easy.you rank up too fast (i guess thats because the friendly AI isn`t really hitting/engaging anything),most "dogfight" encounters can be crushed head-on because the enemy AI isn`t the brightest either and i remember strafing to be a pain in the ass after the first two or three runs.

i don`t know, even if i`m playing the emulated amiga version,i still have that "uuh,i better quit pretty quick and save my pilot data, you´ll never know what can happen" moment.totally not the case in this one,i did not die once so far and immelmann is already dead
