Great game, pretty much Darksiders on speed. Everything is improved. Better VA (though I liked War's voice more), great music, improved combat, much better RPG aspects, great art style (yes the textures aren't HR, just like the first game), bigger and better designed world, good story/atmosphere.
This is how a sequel should be done, take the original game as a basis and improve everything. I'll buy this one.

Didn't they say they'd add a FOV option? Or am I thinking of another game?

War's voice was a bit cheesier but I liked it anyway. Michael Wincott as Death sounds much more natural but still badass though. And yeah i agree with all you mention about the game being an improvement over the first one so far. What I'm really enjoying is the new climbing/wall walking/bouncing stuff.

You thinking Borderlands 2 for that FOV slider Smile

I agree, the game is really good but it doesn't change the fact that it's sloppy port. Mouse scroll not working in menus, fucking annoying camera that autocenters and lowers itself or Death screen in inventory taken straight from PS2... Glad I didn't buy it, 'cause I would be pissed for receiving such poor port.

The first one was a worse port, I still bought it. You're right, I was thinking about Borderlands Sad

Does anyone use all that DLC stuff? Looks so cool, but such things usually break balance.

Imho DS2 is worse port. DS1 had normal camera (my biggest issue so far with DS2) and better working menus on PC.

And yeah, the DLC shit looks great but the stats on it are just LOL comparing to normal stuff, so nothing unusual here, typical DLC approach for derps. I'm just gonna drop it somewhere in the world 'cause you can't simply destroy stuff Smile

Very Happy I noticed that in this game dodging is much more relevant now, at least until you get better gear. And not just spam dodging but timed dodging. Well in DS1 it wasn't actually a dodge but a dash movement, though you had that blocking special movement which I barely used in the whole game Reaction

Mouse sensitivity is kinda low :/ But when I turn it up it goes too fast in the aim mode..meeh.
Other than that (and shitty textures Razz) I'm loving it.

Yeah, Death feels like a god damn ninja in this game. Well, he should be a ninja, stealing all those souls without anyone noticing him Troll Dad. It felt good taking out Gorewood at level 1, I ran by him by mistake, I guess, I was just messing around, I'm trying to get to the Cauldron, and I found that dungeon. Feelsgoodman.jpg

While I don't think it's worse, i agree 110% with you on the camera. It's beyond frustrating.

Noobish question, but where IS Gorewood? The map icon does nothing and there are areas I can't reach further into the Crag. I just want to make sure I'm not missing something, since you reckon you beat him at Lv1 (hell, when I first fought Thane I was already lv2..)

Thanks!

Or was it level 2? Just after I got the first ability (the dash) anyway. You know the flooded stairs where you find the first page of the booklet? Go underwater and you'll find Gorewood.

you eventually unlock an evade counter, where if you evade at the right time you project your reaper form and he hacks away at whatever for a few seconds. its really good.

this game is also really awesome. it makes the downsides of the pc port easier to ignore. because this game is really good.

YES, this is Darksiders 2 Very Happy. First game this year that makes me wanna explore more and more and more, the god damn gameplay is awesome, regardless of the camera problems and yada yada yada, that's bullshit for me, it's a great game overall, I'm loving every single bit 'til now. I'm still exploring around, I swam with Death for like half an hour already, I just enjoy the way he's swimming, that whirlwind-dash is badass Very Happy. But it's just me maybe.

Camera is fine here, but I would like to know where I can find some sort of config file.

AMD enforces some Microsoft policy for DirectX (Or so I've read, I don't know.) and as such without third party tools (I don't remember it's name unfortunately, not Rivatuner or those other GPU oriented tweak programs.) so those options (tripple buffering and Vsync) are only valid for OpenGL.

Which is silly.

Try D3D Overrider.

Add game's exe, set 'Application detection level' to normal, and enable both V-Sync and Triple Buffering. (The latter one is actually optional, but may help avoid stuttering. Wink)
