Im stuck at the drenchport level, 2nd water puzzle where you have one ball and a big metal grate in front. You push the ball upwards using RT and once ball is in, the metal grate opens. But the steps above is too high to hold on the ledge and climb.
Any idea? |

Decided to go after the mad construct sidequest. Ended up at a part of the level where i'm supposed to defeat 3 waves of corrupted small and large cunstructs with no heal pots remaining.
Doesn't sound all that hard right? WRONG, the small motherfuckers take 1/4 of my HP with a single fucking blow, and there's fucking swarms of them spawning over and over. And of course, any charge attack they land takes 1/2 of my HP. All the while i have to do about 20 fucking hits on every single one of the small ones to kill 'em.
I swear to god, the fucking combat in this game is going to do me in. |
due to the increased rpg elements the game does encourage grinding for sidequests, if you dont want to grind, play the main quests, if you want to tackle the sidequests you will have to grind or just come back later when you ve naturally leveled up enough through the main quest, simple.

when the ball is in place, pick up a bomb and climb onto the pedestal, then throw the bomb at the ball to dislodge it so the pedestal will go up again.

@BLaM and The_Zeel, that's what I wanted/was expecting to hear in reply to my first impression. That and having played a bit more, exploring a dungeon, cleared my doubts.
I still find the Diabloesque loot stuff a bit annoying, having to pause every now and then to sort through that stuff and pick'n'choose the best gear. It's detracting from the normal gameplay flow, that these type of games have.

If i go any further in the main quest, i'm going to leave the first map.
I only started doing the sidequests once i was done with the main boss in the first area. I'm lvl 12 at the moment, there's nothing else to grind except for random wandering mobs which give no exp at all and take one shot to kill.

I usually use that equip button on the fly , whenever I see that the gear is on the ground..you compare it imidiatelly when you step above it and then you decide. And I usually do a detailed check on my inventory when I level up..

Gg.
Fighting, climbing and puzzle solving. As with the first game they have managed to mash together their own game by adding a mix from other successfull games.
The game just feels epic, with awesome places to visit. And it must be huge. Im guessing 50h+ if you are into collecting stuff, doing side missions...
Solid 4/5

dont worry, you can go back to previous world, i just reached the 2nd one and can go back to forge lands through the portal at any time.
besides, some quests that you get in forge lands you can only complete in the world after it.

think so? i just finished world 1 with most of the sidequests but still some open ones 9 hrs without any extra grind. with 4 worlds in total the 30 hrs sound about right, most of the playtime i spent on the main quest alone, so that has to be easily over 20 hrs without any sidequests.

How much back-tracking are we looking at in this game?

so far in the whole 1st world: none.
i think it is safe to assume that due to the much larger size of the game world this time around
the devs have refrained from unecessary padding like in darksiders 1 (which was, lets be honest, a 10 hour game really)
