Left hand, the finger next to your pinky, is usually for your wedding ring (guys and girls). In girls, in some places, they put the engagement ring on the right hand, on the finger next to pinky, and on the wedding day, the wedding ring on the left hand, as in my first sentence.

But for guys, other than that, I don't know of any meaning for ring position on other fingers...

As for piercings, I've heard a loads of stuff, but they are usually bollocks. Like, if a guy has left (or right, I really dk what position) brow pierced he's gay. And the same for one earring, but imho that's bullshit, because I've seen any combos on both straight and gay ppl alike so...

For men, ear piercing on left ear is gay, right ear is straight, both is bi.
Ring on index finger - self-confidence, ambition, leadership, executive ability, leadership, sometimes spiritual or religious.
Ring on middle finger - balance, sense of right and wrong, the law, search for truth, propriety, self-analysis, secretiveness.
Ring on left hand nameless(ring) finger, means emotional, creative.
Ring on right hand nameless(ring) finger, means engaged/married.
A necklace means nothing.
Ring on right hand nameless(ring) finger and necklace - engaged/married, but it means nothing. Cool Face

Yeah, I call bullshit. I have a friend with pierced both ears who's gay. Also my ex had left ear pierced (didn't wear earrings when he was with me), but tons of kids in my town have pierced ears on the left side, and they are not gay.

I don't think that it means anything (besides the wedding part), just someone's making stuff up...

It's a region culture specific thing?

And of course it's not a law - you can do whatever you want..
You can wear a ring on the right hand ring finger, and not be married.. it may even get you laid!

I've got my wedding ring on my right hand (finger next to pinky) as is the culture in Norway, which I chose to adopt Smile On my left hand (finger next to pinky) I've got a friendship ring my wife bought me in our first year together. No other rings. Also have a small gold hoop in my left ear ... and I'm not gay Smile

That whole "you're gay if you ....." in relation to rings/earrings is just bupkis.

I completely agree, it really shouldn't have any significance where we choose to place our jewelry, I keep my friendship ring where it is because that's comfortable and the wedding ring is just, well, "When in Rome" sort of thing. I'm in Norway now and this is how things are done, so I'm comfortable with that

Same in England too, it was one of those ridiculous things tossed around by children and immature teenagers.

its SAD that something like common knowledge about jewelery meaning was banned from common knowledge by Pastors and the Christian church and marked a pagan believes/Black magic/Satan worship and put in TAROT/ASTRONOMY/HOROSCOPE books ... not kidding

It's the right ear that would mean you're gay. I always thought it was just a way of letting other people know your sexual orientation tbh, and if that were the case, why would that be a bad thing? If you're gay and you want people to know, you get your right ear pierced.

I would have thought nearly all adults in the UK would assume someone is gay if they saw them with just their right ear pierced. It's like a common knowledge thing.

Edit: Obviously I'm not saying ALL people in the UK with just their right ear pieced must be gay.

It's a common knowledge thing because it came from kids stuff... and hey, we were all kids Razz I can't find a single substantiated source of "sexuality indication due to earring position" -- it's all Yahoo Answers and Urban Dictionary replies. Men have had their ears pierced for centuries, pirates did it as a way of showing their worth.

I've read somewhere that back in the USA gays in San Francisco or some place like that used a yellow handkerchief in left or right back pocket as a sign that they are gay so that they could meet and recognize each other easily...

Sadly now days you just look hipster enough and voila! -.-"

What's up with that "thumb ring" bullshit girls are into now?

As for males and jewelry - wedding ring, wrist watch, and MAYBE one other ring on another finger of some massive significance (secret society signet or family heirloom). Anything beyond that (earrings especially) and we're getting into the whole metro/bi/womanly area. We're not cavemen anymore gents...enough with the ear piercings.

This is one of those things that hasn't gone away since the early 90s... tbh most males here don't get only one ear pierced anymore and you can tell those with only one pierced have had it for 10+ years when this "meaning" was going around.

I had my left ear pierced from about 1996 to 2010 or so (stainless w/ ball), was thinking about changing to plugs/tunnels in both ears but just gave up on it Smile

This. I have both of my ears pierced twice. Is that supposed to mean I'm like quadruple bisexual or something? What about my lip being pierced 3 times?
