Yeah, played the first one with keyb + mouse without any problems.

Will do the same in the sequel.

It does not suck, a gamepad is usually best suited.

Again with the kb+mouse vs gamepad argument?

Can we just chalk it to personal preference and bury the subject forever?

Is that from a preview? I was going to say those sounded like the console version options since the PC version isn't available yet but do they have a resolution setting?
(Maybe 720 - 1080 or such, what do I know.)

EDIT: Though yeah it matches the first game.
(But I could force AA and AF just fine from what I remember, currently using SMAA instead though, still need to complete this chapel with a giant female bat in it or what it is, haven't progressed in months but been busy with other stuff.)

One sec here....

I'd give you guys my Steam library link, but they're all marked as private and I can't flag them as public until Tuesday Wink.

Here's your options screen:
 Spoiler:

^^ Despite this, the game looks/plays fine. I'm using the FXAA injector to get it a bit darker/grittier but Steam screenshots don't seem to show the difference anyway.

That HAS to be because of a review copy or something, there's no way the game is going to ship without visual settings... that would just suck Sad What the hell is it with the lazy-ass ports of late? Sad

The first one was a basic port too if I recall correctly (very few options), but at least it ran well and played good with m/kb. Let's hope it's the same for this one as well Razz (still disappointing :/)

edit: fffuuu ninja'd Laughing

Ah a reviewer then perhaps, as Sabin said there's a separate build of the game but it has to be based of the final code anyhow, just separated as to not allow people to use it to acquire the game early. Smile

Options match what the first game had from what I remember, it was more or less a straight port after all though the actual game wasn't bad at all once you got into it. Smile

EDIT: Most of this was already stated while I wrote it. Very Happy
(Ninja trio. Razz )

EDIT: Oh right, thanks for the info. Smile

On the question of graphics options, I was told by both Fitzloff and Everett that the PC version will have a fully tweakable config file as well as the standard in-game graphics options for various resolutions, settings, and options. However, if you want to get really deep, the config file will be there.

Guess we'll see what's in that config file then if there's nothing in-game, unless it's just that particular build of the game though that would be weird.

There's no config file in the steamapps\common\Darksiders 2 folder. There is a folder, but it's empty. steamapps\common\Darksiders 2\config. Nothing in My Docs\My Games\Darksiders 2 aside from savegames.

Anywhere else I should look? Smile.

Yeah, I remember reading a preview that said that. I guess their idea of "standard in-game graphics options" applies to resolution/vsync :\ Ah well.. as long as it runs well and looks good, then it's cool Smile

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\*SteamID_Numbers*\50650
(Thus matching http://store.steampowered.com/app/50650/ )

(Unless it's under a deeper folder such as C:\Users\UsernameHere\Appdata\Local )

So I did a test thanks to a user whom provided the necessary files (.manifest and .acf from the pre-load related to the game.) unfortunately as should probably have been expected it's not going to work to decrypt the files on the disc image that was released.

For one thing from what little I know about this it seems the .manifest files are indeed encrypted (I can see partial file names in the ones I have, I can't see anything in these but strange symbols.) and for another they seem to differ in version between the pre-load and the actual release content (Unsure how that works.) so there's likely no chance at all to decrypt these types of archives before the real release date.

Still was interesting to try though, a fun little experience all in all even if it was sort-of doomed to fail from the start. Very Happy

Don't I have to constantly be on VPN when playing? Different release dates in the digital age, one of the biggest fuck ups.

Dunno.
Didn't had to when I did it with Deus Ex: HR, I think.

I think you only need to unlock it.
