Sleep about 9 here even though its hot I'm working out again so my muscles always ache and I feel physically exhausted so "knocking out" is easy for me.

My mind races aswell, it's annoying.
when I work, I sleep around 4-5 hrs per night max WHEN i sleep.. if not its's 2-3... and i work 12hrs shift.. .it sux.

i would say a 2 for me . i don't ever really sleep unless i have the aid of a substance. It started when i was a kid. I too suffer from the mind racing but sometimes the ideas/thoughts can be quite worthwhile.


For those that have trouble sleeping

1) Smoke pot (it helps a lot at least for a few years)
2) Try trazadone.
3) If the trazadone fails try ambien as they work in a different way.

Ambien actually makes me speedy. Trazadone has knocked every person i have giving it to out. I would recommend taking at least 200 mg's if you have serious insomnia.

Oxypam and ganja go good bro - chills ur head out, gives u kinda an E buzz, nice and happy feelings and u get tired and knock out, bout 2 hours I'd say till u pass out...but its not a sleep aid, its an antidepressent used for post-traumatic stress syndrom, but it works nice...and u only need the 20's (mg) to get nice

heres a quick fix, take a glass of warm milk straight from the microwave or whatever with half a tea spoon of brown sugar, about 30 mins before you hit the sack. It will put you right off to sleep, works every time. Just gotta hope you like milk and sugar i guess

Interesting dude. The warm milk i have heard but the brown sugar thing is new...I'm gunna try that today still...how long do u warm up the milk? like luke-warm or hot?

Cuz these pills the Dr. gave me don't really do shit unless I drink on them...but then i can't get up for work in the morning...fuckin retarded shit...why can't i get some perks or valums?

i had insomnia mildy for a number of months because of shock after an accident. Milk helps the natural sleep effect in your body, meds are good but natural sleep is so much better, heres a few points that i was given by a specialist in insomnia and trauma psychology

When its getting to the time your gonna sleep, use the milk and brown sugar trick. then in the 30 mins before you go to sleep just chill and watch some TV or something, something that you enjoy like sports, or a documentory etc. when you actually go to bed just try to focus your mind on something you enjoy doing and try not to think about sleeping, the more calm your body is the easier youl fall asleep, also hot chocolate and Horlix is good. I dont recommend meds if im honest cos i have been there and done that to say the least, Nytol is the only one that really seems to work well Smile but i would stick to the naturals, also, keep away from high energy food and drinks such as Coke or Chocolate after like 7PM.

I drink alot of Coke and coffee and I smoke - which I hear hinders sleeping too
Im gunna try the milk thing and no coke thing tonite and I'll let u know how it works

I seriously think Im on the verge of breaking down cuz over the past month or 2, ive slept maybe 3 hours a nite...and I work hard for a living, not some office job where I sit in a chair and stare at a computer all day....not that office work isnt hard and stressful, its more mental than physical. Im a structural steel welder so i deal with lots of heavy, hot shit on a daily basis.

How can you only sleep 3 hours a night? That's seems just impossible to me, if I sleep less than 6 hours im a zombie! Last night I slept 11 hours.

The coke and coffee has a bad effect on sleep, just drink it at day and stop about 4 hours before you go to bed. If this doens't work well enough you could try a valium, my mom used to have 5 miligrams and I tell you they can put an elephant to sleep Wink
Only use them when you need them, cause they can be more addictive than chocolate!


I don't know who it was but someone mentioned that people who sleep long die younger. Thats the biggest bullshit I ever read on the Nforce boards. If you only speel 3/4 hours a night for the rest of you life I guarantee you that you never get older than 75.

I work from like 6am - 1pm or 2pm depending on what I gotta do
I lay down to sleep around 11pm
I watch the news, then leno, then kimmel - trying to fall asleep...usually by the time I knock out, its like 2-3am and I have to get up at 5am - drive to work is half an hour long

Thats why i made this topic, I gotta find some way to sleep...like I know what keeps my mind active, and I dont wanna get into it, but I can't stop thinking when I lay down and try to relax
I'm more relaxed when say Im posting on here, or playing a good videogame - back to playing the MOH series (have all of em - from AA to Breakthrough to Pacific Assault.
Anyway, that shit keeps ur mind active so it doesnt help i guess

The Doc says I have insomnia and has given me many different kinds of meds over the past few months still and nothing fuckin works - I can't lie still, it all started when my wife and I broke up which is a fuckin trip in itself

I know why I can't sleep, but I can't correct it ya know? Thats why i say i think im running on empty and I really need like a week of sleep - but Im not at the point where the Doc will write me off work for a week or whatever so I can get better.
Even tho I smoke enough weed to go to bed, its not good cuz like watergem said, natural sleep is the best and thats what the body needs. The Doc has told me that too ya know - u may think u get nice sleep when ur piss loaded or really stoned, but in actuallity, u get less and worse sleep

Very cold milk straight from the fridge is my style. Cold, refreshing and sooo tasty... Smile

Anyway 4-6hours a night works during the weeks so that I can have time for both work, battlefield 2 and some other stuff...
But at the weekends I am mostly out for about 12h each night and once a month I come home, falls to sleep and wakes up the next morning when its time to go to work...

Had a period about 1.5 years ago when I slept 2-3h/night... That really worked me out and I didn't feel very well...

dont worry about having insomnia, been there done that, one day you will wake up and its gone completely, or at least it did for me, once your body is over the worry about it youl be fine, just try to get used to a pattern and youl be fine mate, dont worry about itso much. And dont listen to these idiots saying about you dying early, the human body can survive on 1 hour sleep per 24 hours awake for a lifetime, its a fact.

I dont know where you heard this but to me it sounds like total bullshit. A human brain doesn't work properly if you don't sleep at least a few hours a night. Yes, you would probably survive 1 hour a night but you'll be exhausted all the time. I mean, not if you play Battlefield or other games all day, but people who work hard can't live with 1 hour sleep.

Well in theory the human body can survive on one hour of sleep a day, and the only detrimental factors will be cognitive difficulties. In pratice if you have less then six hours of sleep per night it has a negative effect on your immune system which usually leads to a shorter lifespan. Obviously this negative effect is increased with less and less sleep.
