It's not very good. It's a pretty generic feeling game overall, like any random pay to win FPS game (gameplay wise, not suggesting its pay to win just plays like one of those random kor games)
It's imbalanced as shit based on levels/upgrades people have, people just roll you in the battlegrounds. You mindlessly grind brain dead enemies in pve to get materials to upgrade. There are invasion type events like in Rift, but people don't complete them, just stay on a phase killing endlessly spawning enemies.
It's all around bad in my opinion. It's early beta so plenty can change but there's no reason to drool over it atm.
That said I have 2 invites, I really want CSGO if anyone wants to trade. I'll even give you both, or send them to whoever you want
Cant trade CSGO, but if you end up with a extra invite you would make the day of an old man.
Anyway, is it really that bad?
I was in Global Agenda Alpha up to retail, and that game was Baaaad.
Really have my hopes on Firefall, or maybe Planetside 2.
IMO it's pretty decent for a FPS mmo, but it needs more content and a layer more of polish. The item / level system is a bit odd and should be reworked.
I see it's getting mixed reviews. The original PAX gameplay video looked great. Some of the more recent gameplay videos look less interesting. Bought an invite for 10 bux will find out soon for myself.
You just lost 10 bucks, game is in really early beta footage, it feels like alpha, dont want to go too deep with details about current state, but lets just say it feels like 95%+ of whole game is missing, the core stuff is done, but everything else including quests npcs and content even ai, is missing.
I appreciate your opinion, but after playing this for over a week I can say that it's the best 10 bux I spent in a long time. It's obvious that the game is very unfinished but it is one of the most promising skill based MMOs out there. Like you said majority of the planned content is missing and there are plenty of bugs and glitches. However it is very playable and most importantly fun, especially after the major (over 3 gigs) patch they released few days ago. They also gave everyone that is in the beta two friend invites, so If any of you are still trying to check this title out, look on steamtrades.com. Should be very easy to get one now.
I like firefall, I think its a solid game, although its not really my genre and I probably won't play it a lot when released. Pm for beta invites, I have two.
But yeah sure, lets say the core game is finished, but the game lacks 95%. Why would you write this, in what possible universe does that make sense? If you're gonna mindlessly bash the game, at least give it some effort and common sense. So dumb.
Dont know if you played before the Huge ass patch that went thru last week, but at that time NPCs had no AI, and were not attacking you, and you could just Thumb or do daily quest over and over again, or 4 quest, or pretty unmade and unbalanced PvP.
Also there was only one city with NPCs before, loads of loot that droped was a big ass tire that was basicaly nothing, a filler item named <null>
The AI has been fixed drastically. You can't really solo light thumper past 50%, unless you get lucky. They are responsive, fast and can be brutal if you are not geared. They are still doing live fixes/patches so it can get laggy/borken at times, but when it works it's great. There is still no new quests or AI in the other areas. However the map has gotten a mojor update. I have not played long enough to tell for sure, but it seems that some of the "cities" have been completely redone. You can also thump in many more places all over the place, which makes exploring a lot more fun and rewarding. The game also got a major visual upgrade, it looks gorgeous compared to what it was like before. At max detail it looks more like the PAX videos we saw originally. The nights got really dark now, to a point that you can't see shit unless you use a flashlight. Firefall has a lot of potential. I hope the devs steer it in the right direction.
got into beta some time ago and wasnt able to download the shit client. Neither the "streaming" one, nor the full. It always fails at the 4.some gb big .7z file inside the main .7z file.
Tried a lot of things, nothing worked (the file is all there and complete, but it still gives a crc error), so i was wondering, anyone knows, if there is some kinda issue with 7zip files bigger then 4gb in general or something ? Using w7 64bit sp1.
(used dta dl manager, so download completes fine).
yeah i exchanged couple emails with them, nothing they told me helped, at all. But yeah, they were very nice and sorry that i have this problem (which seems to be a common issue,since half their technical support forum is filled with that issue and half the stickies aswell :/ ).

No mention yet. The only thing mentioned was that there would be no more xp wipes. So everything you earn from here on, you keep it, at least as far as xp goes. I'm sure the full release is not too far away. This game is more CQB and PVE based than PS2, so I'm not sure they will interfere that much with each other. Hard to say. The new update for Firefall looks awesome though.

Game is really buggy after this 4gb game overhaul, but the new systems seem awesome as hell. They totally did away with levels.. you buy upgrades as you want. Everything about it seems better. Also, you get about 4x as much jet pack and move a lot faster when you sprint. The tightened up hit boxes are good too. Once they get the bugs worked out, this is going to be a really awesome game I think. Before the new patch, it was pretty meh.. now though, it's vastly different, yet superior to what it was. Kudos to Red5 for making sweeping, positive changes.
