People playing todays stress test please do tell if a separate option to turn off depth blurring (i.e. depth of field) without completely switching off all Post-Processing effects is reimplemented after BWE3 in the graphics configuration window.

Can't really check that until you log into the game... Only graphics/audio settings in login screen.

Just played the stress test which seems to now be offline Sad.. I can't wait for this game, its so much fun, I can see it eating away at what little life I have left Razz..

I added a poll about classes, I'll probably replace it at some point with a "what game style are you wanting to play on launch" type question.

Engineer / Necro here. Oddly I was totally set on Necro after the last beta weekend but the 5mins of Engineer I played tonight before the servers went down convinced me to switch! Necro has some interesting abilities (such as stealing debuffs from allies and having a heal that uses debuffs on self to increase healing) but I'm all about support and the elixirs from Engineering are too awesome to miss. Not sure what my early game build will be yet as the elixirs are expensive as hell Sad!

Now you're making me want to try the engineer. Smile

In the first GW I ended up getting every class to level 20... not sure which one I liked best still. ;p They all felt good and fun, even when some of them were really imbalanced. I was mostly a PvE guy anyways (I still never got through some of the dungeons Crying or Very sad), cannot wait for GW2!

In the home stretch!!!

Tried some classes in the stress test, as i have not really played on the last BWE.
Testet warrior, engineer and mesmer.
My main probably will be the warrior. He dishes out very good damage and can take damage like a sponge too.
Engineer was fun to play.
Mesmer didn't convinced me. He was not really making good damage, nor could he take really damage. Tried even different weapons for skills.

Thief for me, I've tried it for the first time yesterday during the stress test. I expected something wowesque (and it was the reason i didn't try it before) but i was wrong. It's FUN. High mobility, good damage, and alot of control, not mentioning the shortbow skills are FUN.

I'm a big fan of the thief but I just couldn't play as one, out of the classes I've tried it seemed to have the least survivability (I am talking about very low level here). I guess its the armor type + close range combat.

The poll seems to be heading the way I expected it, although I am surprised by the number of warriors. That's one class I didn't get a chance to try out.. I'll get round to playing one eventually no doubt!

I've tried the warrior and it was my chosen class before trying the thief. It's veri versatile and you can build it in a ton of different ways.

Regarding the thief it is really squishy, but it has alot of options to help him out of a fight or to evade blows. The sword+dagger combo (Flanking Strike) let's you evade any attack and strike quite hard. The shortbow fifth skill (can't remember the name) it's AMAZING when used defensively: they should have called it GTFO skill.

It also has a lot of useful skills that go very well in WvWvW like smoke screen and shadow refuge.

Oh right, stress tests might be a different case (was thinking of beta weekends), I think ANet announces those on their facebook page. Tho with the release date so close, who knows if there'll be more.

GW2 is going to fail. Maintaining a persistent world costs too much. The 'instanced' nature of GW 1 kept costs down and effectively allowed it to survive while dozens of other MMOs bit the dust.

Don't worry, they compensate with micro-transactions, expansions.
I even fear they will overdo it with micro transaction (paying for extra characeters, server transfers, league games etc), it is not only vanity stuff, some people will be pissed off.
Btw, subcription is a milk cow and is not realy needed to maintain servers, abcence of a subscription fee will allow the game to maintain a player base after 3 months, that is the problem with mmo's, people quit playing (and subcribing) after 2-3 months while company's think that people will play there game forever.
