Ok I tried the proper way with packages now and I still can't get this fucking Uncharted 3 patch working. Now I get this a few seconds after starting the game in the XMB:
Quote: | An error occurred during the start operation. (8001003C) |
What's wrong? Any ideas? Cyclone?

Just for the record, I didn't have to do anything other than what I stated in my post.. I wonder why it would work for me and not him?

No worries, mate! I've managed to find a fixed version on ps3iso but i've yet to download it. I'll let you guys know if it works for me.

Well I just mean, I only applied official patch, and then I ran some other person's .pkg and it worked for me, and the same method doesn't work for him. strange. ;p
I didn't end up using any of my own attempts.

Haha, yah, I wish I could have figured it out on my own. I gave it a merry chase but in the end couldn't get it... At that point I just wanted to try the game out, haha. Congrats Weedo for figuring it out.

There's probably no way to run the update patch without grabbing the DUPLEX release all over again is there...?
The game works but it would be nice to see the updates without having to download a 45GB release.

whole point of new UC3 fix is to run it WITHOUT modified game files. defeats the purpose to still use modified game files and new fix...

I'll re-grab the release. What's another 45GB it's just bandwidth.
I'd rather have a clean release than a dirty one.

Anybody have any luck getting the Splinter Cell HD Trilogy working with the new fixes coming out...?
It took hours just to FTP this release to my PS3 and come to find out it's reported
working on "external drives only". I can launch the game but when it get's to the main menu it immediately wants to start installing game data and it just stalls.
I know the PSN HD packs work, so I may go for them. Haven't seen Chaos Theory HD posted anywhere.

I never tried it on 3.55 but to me it looks like another 3.60 game that fails on 3.55 because of some new SDK functions. Then again I could be wrong, and it could simply be a kmeaw bug (splinter cell psn versions have issues with kmeaw).
Remember, not all 3.60+ games can work out of the box on 3.55, see for example MGS Peace Walker that fails.

How did True Blue manage to get Peace Walker working on 3.55 if it was compiled with the 3.60 SDK?

So these new eboot fixes it's as easy as replacing the original eboot on 3.55 to get working?

That's what I did for Resistance 3. Patched in order to 1.05 (102 -> 103 -> 104 -> 105) and replaced EBOOT.BIN and PARAM.SFO and worked nice. ;p

Compatibility patches, that their payload provides, substituting the need of this function by patching it altogether.
This is probably why True Blue didnt fix it till recently.

Wait, you patched it to 1.05 with the official patches and after that you swapped the param.sfo and eboot.bin? That never worked for me! And what about this:
cyclonefr wrote: | Editing it after installing the pkg is too late, since the metadata_hdd file is already updated (in hdd0/vsh).
Either edit the metadata hdd file, or repack the pkg or install a 3.60 spoof or after modifying param.sfo, rebuild hdd structure in recovery mode.

Dunno man! This stuff is still mildly over my head in certain areas, haha.
But yah, I patched using the official patches using this tool sabin posted: http://yifan.lu/psn/
Then I used this file for EBOOT.BIN and PARAM.SFO: http://rghost.net/39520378
I use a disc in the drive and use the "mount" or whatever using multiMAN and back to XMB. Although, for this particular method the disc icon is a question mark and will not boot (says unsupported data) but if you use the "app_home/PS3_GAME" option it booted right up.
EDIT: Also, this is for the BLES01118 release.

Are you using a 3.60 spoof?
