I was thinking about doing this myself. I'm not convinced I need 1Gbit tho.
Yes, yes I'm back.

You did the right thing!
I'd do it too if I could, both financially and logistically speaking

Nah mate dont use any kind of usenet. Also you dont wanna go by my speed as I live in a different country with different peering and routing so just because id be able to download at max bandwith wouldt be a guarantee that you could.

i have 100/7 (well had and will have again next month) and i never felt the need for needing more (45gb/hour or a full bluray image).
I always said, when you can download a movie faster then you can watch it, you're a-ok |
I had 100/10 so the extra ul speed is very nice. I know what you mean about 100mbit being enough for download, I figured id try gbit to see if the bandwidth would be that much and all I can say its worth it, downloading a hd 1080p rip is insane now.
Ixi, I understand mate whats the internet connections in italy? Atleast be happy you dont live in Iran with their crappy 56.5kbit internet speeds and national proxy limiting access to much of the free internet |
It's terrible, we're 10 years behind the rest of Europe when it comes to internet and technology in general. The 100Mbit was introduced last year in only 3 cities, costs around 90€ a month and doesn't even work as it should (according to the feedbacks). Oh well.

I knew I shouldn't have read this thread, my 4.5meg download makes me ;(
The uk is pretty bad for BB still, just waiting on BTInfinity to be activated in my area and I should be on 70meg download which will be enough until they run fibre through the whole system.

I had 35/35 and noticed Verizon FIOS had some new packages. I called them up and was hoping to get the 150/65 deal but they didn't have a phone/net bundle for it so it would have cost $150/mo just for net service.
The rep said she could get me 75/35 for $10 CHEAPER, so I said "ok" and went with that instead hehe.
They also offer 300/65+ but that was $200 a mo just for net. I'm now paying about $104 for net and phone so it's not too bad.
My friend was telling me about some deals they got in Kansas for 1gb down for $70/mo. Bastards.
