Thanks! It said it worked, but I can't see anywhere that it did. It only said that I got Beta Early Access or something like that.

If you check in Account Management --> Membership Info
It shoud say: Planetside 2 Account: ACTIVE (in green).
Don't pay attention to the "No PlanetSide 2 Membership" below that.

There was a new announcement on the beta forum. Tech testing isn't over yet. They said the server will be back online tomorrow and continue through saturday.

I played this over the weekend for a bit using a friends account. It's got some issues for sure.
Graphics are good, but still "appear" simple, which is probably good for performance sake. The actual FX (heat emission for example) are really nice looking. The day/night cycle is awesome for sure.
My main gripes are controls. They feel, rough or stiff. There's a delay in movement/commands it seems like. I don't believe it's intentional or at least I hope not.
I also experienced a "hitching" periodically. I'm not sure if it was caching stuff or not, but it was definitely annoying. They gotta work on that for sure. My system is pretty decent so I think they should be able to fix that up at some point.
As long as they can refine the controls and fix up some odds and ends it should be great. The vastness was quite a sight to behold.

Apparently the hitching thing is hard drive related, didnt occur on my system (RAID SSD).
I'm pretty sure the graphics stuff isn't all in. Including high res textures
I agree controls / handling needs to improve. Also i hated how 'blue' night was.

great news! I expect many problems, but thats what its for. I hope its not like Tribes ascend beta.
Where changes are made, you are thinking they are starting to head the right way, but much more to be done then bam, thats it, released.

Sorry im lazy this morning but wanted to ask, is there going to be a 24/7 beta or is this small test sessions like guild wars 2?

Most likely a full time server but this isnt a demo disguised as beta its gonna be a longer process

I thought I'd read somewhere that it was going to be a session based test process rather than 24/7.. I recall being pretty irritated by it..

They're starting session based but working up to 24/7 but at least they have an EU server with EU times.

Beta Server Availability:
Tuesday July 24th through Friday, July 27th:
2:00 PM PST - 10:00 PM PST (11:00 PM CEST/9:00 PM GMT - 7:00 AM CEST/5:00 AM GMT)
Saturday, July 28th:
9:00 AM PST - 11:00 PM PST (6:00 PM CEST/4:00 PM GMT - 8:00 AM CEST/6:00 AM GMT)
We'll announce future testing times so keep checking the forums.
