It looks better with only FXAA enabled than both enabled when the MSAA isn't maxed (for example x2).

I played through the game with no problem with the 28 patch. Yesterday my friend installed the 29 patch and I watched him play a bit. He had a major bug and nobody mentioned it yet so I'm wondering why. Every time an enemy would fall to the ground (not dead), instead of getting back on his feet he just stayed there laying down but with the arm with the gun straight jacked in the air. Caused quite a few strange situations.

Already heard of that one... Not sure if it is exclusive to the 1.0.0.29 version. I use the Reloaded release w/ Theta 1.0.0.29.

Shoot the enemies in the head. Cool Face

I've had an invisible enemy last stand me in NYMH in Chapter 10 - good thing I had the red reticule option enabled.

I'm using 28 and got that on Max. But it's granade bug, if it blows up near you and you shoot dodge, you will get stuck on ground. Has been a Payne to replay some areas and start running away from granades while enemy is shooting at you.

Finished this game few days ago, it was pretty good overall, but not even remotely close to being as good as MP1/2.

I liked clean visuals, good weapon feel and optimization.

I hated that in some places for extended periods of time there were no painkillers, felt cheap. I also hated location (thank god they had some levels in USA).

Some ppl in this thread overrate this game too much, it's good but not that good as they claim Laughing

Try playing any other TPS now, you will see that the gunplay of MP3 raised your expectations and that many other shooters feel cheap now.

MP2 is among my favs too. Incredible game.
I've also loved MP3 but finished it only once (will surely do it many more times) but I am an ending addict. Watched it like 100 times on youtube since I've finished it myself Very Happy love it

So true.. I played Spec Ops right after MP3 and the disappointment factor reached the roof. Shooting and game mechanics felt extremely cheap.

I honestly don't think I'll ever be able to play another TPS without sighing sadly, heh. MP3 showed how to make a glorious TPS with delicious gunplay with a satisfying weight to it... everything else just feels shallow and empty in comparison. It's not the best game in the world, but it's still a fucking damned good one and it deserves all the praise heaped on it.

But they surely pulled off the impossible and made it look and FEEL realistic. it's heavy, swimmy and feels just... Max is old Very Happy

Just beat the game yerterday, started at 1pm and finished it at 11 or so pm it is a true successor for sure. Really enjoyed it. Some 2560@1600 MAX detail.

I started to play yesterday and noticed a bug that sometimes you need to "re-kill" an enemy on the ground to continue playing, and you don't even know it is alive, so you need to shot everyone in the ground, is that a crack bug? or a game bug? anyway to fix that?


I used to be a knee like you. Then I took an adventurer in the arrow.

I have to say, I thought the game was quite good overall. The story could have been better and the ending was not bad, nothing I'll remember for a long time, but I really liked the game to be quite honest. The combat was fun and the controls were very solid. The multi was OK, but sadly no dedicated servers. I'm glad I got it for $15 and not $60, that's for sure. Overall though, it kept me playing till the very end, which is pretty hard to do any more, as I'm always overwhelmed with so many games to play haha Smile Now let's hope GTA V is like 10x better.

I am playing with this patch / crack:
Max.Payne.3.Update.v1.0.0.29-RELOADED

EDIT: I notice the older patches are bigger, maybe I need the older ones?

EDIT2: I installed all RELOADED patches in order, and now it works well.

Nah, not a bug, you need to multikill them until you see an X. Quite annoying sometimes, but guess they all got body armor on.

While on ground alive enemy will turn the spot red, while dead ones it stays white.

I think some enemies with armor might even be invincible to pistol shots when you hit their armor. At one point I shot a guy at least 10 times in the chest with the pistol, but he kept getting back up.

They go down eventually, you also get body armor in a number of levels (Well, two at least.) though I don't know if larger caliber weapons go through them but otherwise all you get is a metal looking hit decal which means it was absorbed.
(So you have to hit the weaker areas which in this game nearly always comes down to shooting at the head - even for those full body armor RPM wielding dudes though there's not that many of them.)
