OMG im still amazed at the ape level of most people using a computer. I mean when you dont even know what the explorer is, maybe you're not ready to use a computer.
I have some support in my work and I end up secretly raging and laughing at most people considering how basic their understanding of computers are, and im baffled at this because people sit at computer everyday and sometimes even at home yet know absolutely nothing.

Just give the morrons some paper and a pen and let them go nuts, anything else is way to advanced for their brains.

The funny thing about knowledge, is that we all have it about different things.

That would be accurate if the subject was about computer hardware.

+1, in my case id be like people wouldnt have any idea where the breaks or gas pedal were if asked about it, or how to start/stop a car which is quite difficult for people using a computer...

Majority of people are button pushers and that also requires learning. It's just if you are an IT guy at some office their questions can drive you nuts. Been there, experienced it.

I stand by my analogy. Smile

It's completely understandable for a computer enthusiast to know the ins and outs of the working of a computer. Same as a car enthusiast to know how the internal combustion engine operates. But for a regular user, who gives a fuck? They use it as a tool and not as an object of interest.

Sure, it's frustrating to explain the same thing to the millionth person, but that doesn't change the thing that the analogy is fitting. Smile

Of course Acer only said that people don't know what explorer is, and I assume expolrer.exe, not IE, which is of course a perfect analogy for the engine. It works in the background, making navigation in windows possible, but for an average user, it is completely and utterly useless information.

It it was IE, then I agree, they are monkeys. Very Happy

Try explaining some people that the "ICON" on the "DESKTOP" is not a game. it is only a shortcut to "FILES IN FOLDER" with a game on partition "D"

Yeah but everyone should know how to check the oil, change tires etc on a car. Im not talking about something advanced as running a setup or hell even unzipping or unraring a file is impossible for most people. And I live and work in sweden which is fairly high up when it comes to computer and internet use.
Note I meant explorer not IE, but like I wrote even asking someone to start IE is far from as simple as it sounds as most people dont have any idea what internet explorer is or what a webb browser is.
Mostly women who are the problem yeah, especially older women cause you know you'll be stuck on the phone with them for hours. Thank god for applications for team viewer as you can basically say fuck you just run this and ill take over your pc and fic the problem in under a minute.

Or if you ask someone to please log out of your computer but dont shut it down cause i wanna RDP to it. A few minutes later you cant log on and ask them again and the stupid morrons have shut down the computer even though you specifically told them not to.
Amazing...

Computer is as smart as it's user.

So if someone say: "Stupid computer don't work..."

Translation to IT: "I'm stupid and i don't know how computer works" Wink
