I pretty much fly twice a year, with change of airports that makes it 4 times when plane goes off and 4 times when it lands..

Today is Friday the 13th too, but I think it's better than flying on 10year anniversary of September 11th in 2011.

I watched too many plane-crash movies, or at something goes wrong, especially final destination

I can't sleep at all, my pulse and pressure are at elavated levels...

I know everything will be alrite but there is always one thought that won't let go...I had a dream when I was coming back in January, suddenly pressure dropped, and plane started to go down..I woke up just in time before we crashed to the water Sad

Nah, I really enjoy flying planes, but granted, my longest flight only lasted 8 hours.

Besides, if you're afraid just buy some heavy liquor in the duty free store and drink it on the plane. If that doesn't put you to sleep, at least it will keep your tension down.

I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It's the seats and the tiny space for your legs that kills me (1.96M)...god that 10 hour flight to China was driving me crazy.

For the past 4 years I've been flying at least once a month. Nothing has ever happened. And before that I was flying my entire life, at least ~6 times a year. One time I was sitting next to the wing window and watched as lightning struck the plane. Again, nothing happened. So sit back and relax, it's safer than driving a car Smile

I love flying especially in the little birds like the Boeing 730. Hear and feel the engines going out massively and then the construct starts moving faster and faster and takes off at some point. I would love to fly it myself but then everyone dies, I am afraid. Very Happy

I liked flying too, until 6-7 years ago when I got into a huge storm while traveling to Tenerife with a relatively small commercial plane.

Admiring those wings being unnaturally flexed like a piece of plastic wasn't exactly a pleasant experience Laughing

I love flying. Sure, I can never get comfortable, and sleeping is pretty much impossible, and the cramped space makes me want to fart like there's no tomorrow, but I just love to look at stuff below. Last time we were flying from NYC to Paris to catch the last plane home, when one of the most unforgettable sights of my life happened.

It was just dawn, we were flying eastwards. As we crossed the solar terminator, I looked down to the French coast and pretty much saw the shadow of the Earth. It was a bit foggy, more like a damp morning. No clouds at all, and I could just barely make out the details below. Thanks to this, I had a beautiful view of the sharp divide between the lit and unlit parts of the ground, and a colossal shadow was stretching above the unlit parts, very slightly arching above the ground as it got farther away from the terminator, clearly visible in the damp air, like when you shine a flashlight in the fog and see a clear divide between the lit and unlit parts. And the whole view was stretching all the way to the horizon, getting a first hand experience about the curvature of the Earth surface.
I tried to take a video of it, but the camera was out of juice. I doubt I will ever get the chance to witness such a magnificent view ever again.

The other unforgettable view was above Detroit IIRC. This time it was just after sunset. Our plane took off and as we rose above the clouds, the afterglow of the sun was still visible. You know how the sun is bright red just as it's on the horizon? Well, if you get lucky, you can see its light take a longer route across the atmosphere by reflecting off a cloud after it dips below, resulting in a bright violet hue.

Now imagine this color all over the place in an overcast weather, above the clouds. As you look out the window, everything is swimming in this violet light. It was like as if we were flying on another planet. Happened a long time ago, but it is another unforgettable sight.

So yeah. I love flying.

Eh, beats the Greek pilot who we flew with a couple of years ago who left the door of the plane opened. He said the air conditioning was broken and he wasn't going to fly in this fucking heat.

Fucking Greece =/

I absolutely ADORE flying, I love the feeling I get whenever I fly.... but yes, there have been a few times when I'm climbing the steps into the plane and I think "You won't survive. If the plane crashes you'll either die instantly or you'll burn to death slowly" and it makes you think about the lack of control you have being in a plane.

... but then I sit back, put my music on, enjoy a couple cans of beer and just enjoy the flight ^_^

I love flying, so no. I always use an airplane when going on a vacation or somewhere. It's more expensive, but much faster and more enjoyable imo.

There is no logical fear of flying, much safer then a car where people die every day. If you're really unlucky it might crash&burn, slim odds of that happening though.

Listen to the song Wheels by Foo Fighters, talks about the relief when the plane touches the ground.

flying is safe. its gravity you have to watch out for.

i went only vewwy fiwst aewwopwane a little over a year and a half ago. it was a cessna. there were cracks on the supports on the wing.

i dont think im afraid of flying Smile i was actually expecting it to be a bit scary, and the night before i was kinda psyching myself out a bit, but when the plane started, it was like... meh.. this isnt bad at all.

also, perfect time to repost one of my favourite pics i took during the flight Very Happy
