I meant, as a RPG (MMO or not) and measuring it with a universal measure : "fun factor".
Yes, I remember having much more fun playing WoW back then in 2004 when it was out (not anymore though), than Diablo 3 at launch.

a few years ago i played wow for 2 years, then i realized that i was wasting my life playin a game that was after the lvl cap, grinding grinding and more grinding,i sold the account for the same amount that ive spend boughting the game, and never regreted since then. |
So WoW is a bad game because it has grinding, while the biggest item grindfest in the gaming history [Diablo] is good [or at least you thought it's good!].

So let me ask this question before i smash my pc to bits and bomb the blizz HQ.
Is there...a fucking reasonable way for a dual wielding monk to play in inferno ?
Ive tried dodge monk, blitzkrieg monk, tank monk, shield tank monk
WHAT THE FUCK IS WRONG WITH THIS GAME,i see barbs and wizzard cracking heads without a sweat, yet im dying in one fucking hit, even when i catch the ocassional simple affix elite.
Its not fucking fair,i swear to god .
I see all the monk guides and builds out there saying you need life on hit,i seriously cant see what LOH would do to my situation as i get gang fucked instantly.
And my stats are damn reasonable, damn reasonable for act 2!
6000k + Armor
16000 DPS
50% chance to dodge
arrund 50 % to block
Crit chance 25%
Crit DMG 145 %
Should i start another class....seriously,fuck this monk, its fucking boring, and now its fucking impossible!

I'm using this build http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#WbQXgi!bXU!ZccbcZ
14828 DPS unbuffed (with buffs it reaches 19.7k), 568 res unbuffed (682 buffed), and 6405 Armor. I can solo act 2. Of course, I die from time to time, but mostly when it's some nasty combination. The trick is to alternate attacks, left click after every third hit reduces damage by enemies, and right click after every third hit gives you dps buff for 18 seconds. You don't have to alternate every couple of seconds, just go first for dps buff, and then you have time to spam left click. I have about 230 LoH and bout 770 LPS. I even can go to act 3, reached to catapults, and then I went back to Act 2 to farm some more.

I used this build to farm a2 prior to 1.0.3
http://us.battle.net/d3/en/calculator/monk#abkXgY!ZXU!acabYc
imo mantra of healing is not worth it. the life regeneration it provides is just way too small to make an impact and 20% resist buff didn't help me too much.
for tough enemies you just kite a bit using deadly reach and when your skills are ready you jump in and activate all your damage boosting abilities to more than double your damage and kick some ass in the 4 seconds of invulnerability + short stun provided by blinding flash.
crippling wave felt a bit too dangerous for my taste in a2. the skill is best when you're surrounded but if you're surrounded you're probably gonna die. so instead I use fists of thunder which knocks back enemies and can keep a lot of non-elites from attacking you at all.
to thin out groups just again throw out your cooldowns and smash them to pieces in 3-5 seconds with your damage boosts, then hunt down the stragglers.

Well I find it pretty hard to find the time to play the game. Lvl 50 wizard, act 4 nightmare. The funny thing is that I currently use a spear because it has higher dps than the wand/off hand I bought from AH...

What the hell do i need so much,on all the guides and forum posts, and youtube vids i saw they say they get by with even lower resists than what i have, and some with even lower hp.
I mean goddamn if 460 resist reduces elemental dmg for about 60 %,and 550 reduces 64%,how much difference you think 800 is gonna make ?
I mean i tried kitting, god knows i ran arround the map once pumping pots and serenities and i still got fucked in the end without barely making a dent in them.
btw heres a screen

The only people getting away with lower resists/armor are the glass cannons with huge dps that destroy everything in seconds. You just need better gear, it's that simple, and get a shield if you're having problems sustaining dmg. Shields aren't only for barbs but for all classes.

I am a monk and I own all acts with great ease, the only thing I have a problem with is the arcane/waller/desecrator/nightmarish elites, they are nigh unkillable because first the wall you in, then you get a bunch of lasers on your ass or some kind of red lava pool under your feet and you cannot move, all the other elites I eat for breakfast, regardless of the act. I mainly farm act III elites for rares.
My stats are, and I suggest you need atleast the same or maybe little bit less,
8000 armor
34000 DPS
40% to dodge
14% to block
Crit chance 5% -->> you'r above this but as you see its not needed
Crit damage 50% -->> you'r also above this but again, not needed
Resistances of 935
Armor goes to 11600 with keen eye rune, DPS will go to above 37000 with blazing wrath rune and above 45000 with Faith in the light. With above stats, you will breeze through the acts. You surely need 'One with everything' and about 2000 dextirity, bit of intelligence helps for your resistances, get attack speed on every item you can get(2 rings, amulet, gloves and your weapon ofcourse). Get a good helmet and put in a decent gem that gives you atleast +16% life. I currently only sit at 46500 life and do only 185 life on hit.

I have 1057 all res, 5700 armor, 9k dps, 61k HP, 1346 LoH and can tank really well. I got the weapon (700 dps with 883 LoH and an amulet with 553 LoH from a friend) but for the rest I spent 3 mil gold. Finished Inferno and tanking Diablo w/o dying. I still die sometimes when I hit some nasty elite combos. But with a good dps caster behind me we clear all of the map. I wanted to go full tank because I already have a DH for DPS who's sitting at around 100k dps with SS. So, there's no need to give up on the Monk. I gave up on my barb and deleted him because he was one shot in Act 2. Rage delete and now I'm kinda sorry, because I raised him and had 150 hours played. On the barb I spent way more money than on the DH and the Monk combined and still didn't managed. The Monk has the highest survivability in the game because of his protection skills + mantras.

Why's he trolling about the barb?
Spoiler: | |
I can switch to a few bits of other gear, drop to 37.5k damage and get to 730 all resist with arcane/holy at 799. Still not enough to survive for more than a few seconds without WotB or IP. My HP is low, but to find any items with similar resistances, strength and armour but with more vitality, any single piece of my gear costs 4 million to upgrade at least. Everyone knows how fucked the game is for barbarians and they take full advantage of it on the AH. All in all I've already spent well over 10 million, probably closer to 15, to get to where I am.
Meanwhile, if I switch to full DPS gear and go dual wield, I can get over 50k DPS and actually do more damage than the average DH, especially on single targets. I can crit for over 100k and with that crit chance of mine, you can see where that's coming from.
My DH is also happily sitting there in gear that didn't cost even 5 million, with less HP, not even a fifth the armour, half the resistances and I can easily clear A3 with her. Takes a bit of kiting here and there, but for the most part shit falls over before it even gets to me. Only exceptions are mobs that have a natural teleport or are naturally fast, those take a bit of effort.
I had no problems up to Inferno. Wasn't until A4/Hell that I actually had to start watching my ass because I wasn't 1-2-shotting everything. Anyone claiming they "easily" clear Inferno on a barb is either lying or has spent more gold on it than the average person can farm. That in turn means you either got tons of help or don't have a life so you can play all day long. Like Crapparian. There is no fucking way you're easily doing it on a barb unless you got it to 60 within the first few days and thus was able to get all the good items cheaply.

This game is really going down. The last time one of my friends was online (have 10) is 16 days. And i would do the same, if botting wouldnt be at least a bit of fun.

But ofc, because 10(!!!!) friends don't play it, the whole game is "going down"
