Yes, it's speculation, but you can easily confirm that if you can find the "destroy HDD" feature in it. Now maybe it has been cracked and removed (still maybe we can find traces, I'll look into that if I'm not lazy) which I hope, else some people will be angry real soon.

Also, if somebody has keys, somebody usually releases the latest patch for a game (FF13-2 has 6 patches now) and won't spend time to decrypt the 1.00 EBOOT (specially since in the case of FF13-2, the 1.00 EBOOT uses 4.00 keys vs 3.70 keys in patches) Razz Also, if somebody has keys, he wouldn't forget to decrypt the SPRX that come with the game/patches (which is the case for FF13-2).

My guess is whoever reverted TB just now uses the dongle itself to actually dump the decrypted content, and thus didn't manage to isolate (or forgot) the SPRX too. I know if I had keys in my possession, to decrypt a game from my PC, I would decrypt all files, just not one file.

@ITRUK : yes and no, they did put a protection, which erases the TOC of the HDD if it detects you don't have a TB dongle plugged. So the HDD itself isn't formatted, just destroyed and you can't recover any datas since you can't use this HDD on a PC (it's encrypted).

ps3 game patches use completely different protection and different set of keys, called npdrm. if they have keys to decrypt retail eboots that doesn't mean they have npdrm keys to decrypt update eboots. i thought you would know, since you are such a profound expert of ps3 scene

agreed on the NPDRM part and why the retail eboot decrypting is different than the update eboots decryption

Indeed, but if one's can get retail keys, then he can get NPDRM keys also Razz They are in the same place, I thought you would know Wink

Also, NPDRM doesnt use a "completely different protection", they just use a different algorythm, that had been pwned since a while now (we can decrypt NPDRM for a long time now). So you just need 3.70 NPDRM Keys (rev16) to decrypt FF13-2 patches, and so we are back to square one : "if one's can get retail keys, then he can get NPDRM keys also".

The fact we had to wait months to finally decrypt PSN games was only because the NPDRM algo wasn't found, the 3.56- NPDRM keys themselves were never a problem.

3 days after I receive my TB dongle, Lightake posts that TB have stopped manufacturing and that they'll have an announcement on their site in a few days. Goodbye TB, hello E3, apparently. What's the betting E3 EBOOTs (if any.. nobody really knows exactly what E3 is planning yet) requires new HW and pretty much makes the existing TB dongle only useful for older titles? There's been no word or release from TB since the 6th of June, though GaryOPA swears they're all just "on vacation" (Sure, they're always on vacation whenever a release lull happens...) so who knows?

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

and to think I almost bought TB... , things looks like this IMO :
1. they are stopping with TB/Eboots at all(reilazed they pretty much 'lost' the battle.
2.they are making something new to compate with E3

Help! I have a PS3 Slim with True Blue 2.7 + multiMAN 4.04.02. I was playing MGS4 and the game always crashes back to the XMB when I reach Act 4 (the part where Snake goes back to Shadow Moses). Is there a fix for this???

Ok, we are starting to see some light in the end of the "true blue" tunnel.

In the lightake webpage created to discuss the "new dongle" by True Blue Team, Jerry as created a FAQ where, in one the points he states:

Q: Does the old TB dongle compatible with the new one?
A: Yes! our supplier said the old TB will still get support on updating so that it can play new games as the new dongle. If there is a change, I will advance notice.

I don´t like the part: "if there´s is a change", but i think the actual owners of TB will still have support...

I'm sorry, but that sounds like horseshit to me. What's the point of making a new dongle with new DRM if the old one will still be able to play the new titles? That means the clones of the current device will be exactly the same .. making the new one in July utterly pointless.

I'll be honest, I'm so tired/tipsy I haven't even read this, but here's an interview with the anon chinese hacker. Me isn't me, it's copy pastad from ps3 hax:

Quote:
Me: Hello Mr. Anon
Anon: Hello
Me: Well you said to me over (i won’t hand you the source) that you have some interesting information about what’s happening today on the scene
Anon: Yes indeed.
Me: What you have to say about it?
Anon: Well the scene is screwed. Many people thinks that software solution are a difficult task to accomplish, and they right in some point.
Me: Why?
Anon: Because in terms of money, besides that many people think that some people have to fill a big hunger strike with dollars it’s more than that.
Me: I don’t get it..care to explain more?
Anon: Yes. It’s not all about the money or the fame, some of us are *payed slaves* to do certain tasks that we can’t decline so easy. Since it’s good money and we need a good income in order to buy new hardware and do more things or just to dedicate a 40% of that money to develpment or research.
Me: And the *Ethical* or *moral* code?
Anon: Fu@$ that, if you were in my position you will do the same.
Me: I don’t think so.
Anon: Well you are not in my shoes..so i can understand what you think (he noods)
Me: You have informartion about the release or something regarding a dongle coming out?
Anon: Yes, but i cannot talk too much about it. Since it’s not SECRET that people will be scammed again with another brand new DRM dongle. it’s not new, they run out of ideas and *they* decided to change the name as well some hardware parts to make it more fancy or more credible to drag a possible buyer.
Me: Seems logical.
Anon: No, it’s not. Cause this “TEAM” have the same people working behind them, and they can care less if all of them are exposed to the public.
Me: Why?
Anon: So far until the report of TB not being manufactured anymore with the old news about E3 doing something “similar” some weeks ago releasing the Eboots (that two) they blown their own cover as i early said they don’t care about being exposed.
Me: So..what’s the finaly objective of all this?..
Anon: Get more pockets filled with money with no ethical or moral code like you said. The more the more they produce, the better even if they final dongle is useless.
Me: But what about the dongle-less solution?.
Anon: Where you live? In Rainbows-city?
Me: No, i know that reality it’s much worse..but care to explain a little more?
Anon: Ok. The dongleless solution always existed, never dissapared, but there’s ONE particular dongle that can outperform and “kill” so to speak the ones who are being sold now.
Me: P3GO?
Anon: You are right. If oct0xor keeps that path and don’t get corrupted on the way, if he can catch a P3GO the tables can turn to something bigger.
Me: So all the people involved in all of this…it’s the same people as always?.
Anon: ….I could say yes. But theres one SPECIFIC person that it’s behind all of this and we all know his name.
Me: Maximum hormone? or just another counterfeit?
Anon: I like your sense of humor, but yes we can say so.
Me: Well i have to hit the road jack.
Anon: Me too.
